I was wondering how many people have purchased this for thier 360's and if they think it helps. I bought one for peace of mind, but ive seen no differance in the performance of my system, like less slow down or less freezes in oblivion(it still freezes once in a while, but I think its just the game). I think its just to help the lenghten the lifespan of the system, but thats a good thing.

its a 3rd party peripheral, i wouldnt get it. also it makes the 360 fans go faster, which is bad

I don't have the fan so no comment on fan performance. I think it might be worthwhile for people that have their xbox 360 in a tight space by allowing for better airflow but otherwise I doubt that it would help.

i have to disagree with you on that one, ive heard alot of good thing about it, but nothing like making the fans speed up. it just adds some fans for extra circulation.

I have it. The air that comes out the back when you switch it on does get alot cooler as air is moved around quicker.

But the thing is so freakin loud! If it's a cold day or just playing for a little while I just have it off

Well first off, it can not be good to suck air out of the 360 faster then the factory fans can go. It is a 3rd party device, not an official MS product. I also dont like the fact that there is something between the power cord. It never plugs in all the way and can cause problems. You also have the noise factor. I think of it this way, I have never had the red rings of death and very low freezing, I dont need it. If your 360 is going to break, then it will break with the cooler on it or not.

I think the more circulation the better.

Is it really that much louder than the fans running on there own cause the 360 is load as it is.

man you have no idea what you are talking about.. none. You will not see games go faster or less freezing unless you are freezing because of heat problems. It can only be GOOD. Pulling hot air out faster is the ONLY good thing you can do to the xbox without voiding the warenty. I play mine about 4-6 hours a day (with my roommate playing it as well) and i know it wasnt designed to be on that long.

The BEST thing to do is to open it up, put better thermal paste, better heatsink and fan on the CPU.. but that voids the warenty. The extra fans pulling hot air out will save your parts and extend the life of your 360. It is pretty loud but thats just because of the power of the fans, just like if you have powerfull pc fans, it gets loud but its better. You can really tell the difference by feeling the temp of the exhaust.. much cooler. Learn about electronics before you coment on it.

On another note saying you never got the red rings mean nothing. It only takes one time for you to get the rings for your system to DIE. Its not like it will give you a warning or give you the red rings a couple times before your system dies, it just dies. Prevention is the only way to keep it going, in the mean time you keep waiting to get the red rings, then get another system, then get the cooler.

Sorry to sound like an a$$ but i hate when people say something like that like they know what they are talking about and give people bad advice and cause them to loose their xbox. Not saying you have to have the cooler, but it only will do it good, no harm in any way.

I indeed have purchased it.

Pros: Cheap (only $20),
Cools it down significantly,
And it works in the virtical or horizontal position.

Cons: Really loud,
Not very pretty with the '360,
And it needs a switch for when your in the dashboard and a Game
setting

I say another switch because the only time you need it on is when your playing a game. But If you turn it off when your in the dashboard, it will overheat because it is blocking the vents in the back. So I thought that only one fan can be on when your in the dashboard, and all three when in game.

I also have this and think it is great. It has significantly cooled my X-box. I can not hear the fans of the intercooler over the fans of my X-box. As for system performance I have not had a single freeze since the install of this device. Not a single one.
