Hi, im new to the boards, just got an XBOX 360 a couple of days ago! :hello:
I was really digging the soundtrack from 2006 FIFA World Cup, so i was wondering whether or not i could transfer the soundtrack songs onto my Hardrive, so i could listen to it whenever. Is that possible?>!

Nope, it would be nice if EA let you rip the songs onto the harddrive but then the artist that made the song would bring a lawsuit. You can just find out what songs they are, get them yourself and then put it onto the xbox 360.

No,
You can only rip music from proper CD's.
You can listen to the music from a mp3 but not store it on your HD,
So all of us with GB's of illegal songs cant put hem on the HD, only music from proper music CD's.
Also Videos are not supported in case you were going to ask.

Let me help clearify. To save a song onto the xbox 360 harddrive it has to be rip from a CD (for security purposes). This is to lessen criminal activities such as saving you 1000s of pirated mp3 onto the harddrive. You can burn these songs to a cd then rip them to the xbox 360 if your choose. The easy way is to install windows media connect from microsoft.com and that program will let you stream all your music/pictures from your computer to your xbox 360. If you have media center you can also stream video. The other option is to put the songs on a USB device (Ipod, USB stick, portable harddrive or pretty much anything that can store data and has a USB like a psp) then plug the USB cable to your xbox 360 and now the xbox 360 plays all the songs off the device.

As for taking music from games, it's possible, but I'm not sure if that would be allowed to speak of openly... I got music from Burnout, but I don't plan on getting of that game ever. If I do, I need to delete the music...
Mods, if this info is not allowed on the boards, I am sorry, please delete the info below and let me know.
To get the music, you need to connect the audio output from the 360 to your PC. You will need an adapter to make it compatible with the line in jack on your sound card, but it does work. After that, start recording off the line-in jack with something like Audacity. (Do a Google search, I'm lazy and tired) play the music (if it's an option in the game) and record it on your PC. Save/export it as a Wav file, and get an encoder to encode it to MP3, WMA, or ACC. Whatever your preference is. It takes some time, because each song must be played through. But, you get great quality. Just remember, you get rid of the game, you MUST delete all copies of the music off anything you put it on as well.
just download the songs of the net
