Now.....as much as I'd like to plug my xbox 360 into my system into the lounge I don't think the g/f would appreciate it so I have decided to spend around £700 on a LCD TV\monitor my PC and xbox 360 to use. Now I obviously going to get an TV that is HD ready with a HDMI connection so what do you guys think about this?

not bad, check www.avsforum.com for more resources as those guys are very knowledgable and you will probably find some who have similar sets and can tell you their experiences. I will say I went against LCD HDTV's for now as the technology is still new and they mention often that the current generations have a lot of artifacts and "blurring" going on during fast motion which is not going to be what you want for sporting events or in this case games. Not sure on this set though so I'd check around some more just to make sure :)

Huh post moved? I would have thought a TV was a Xbox 'peripheral'.

no, it isn't quite a peripheral because it applies to much more than the xbox360.
yes, the xbox360 needs it, but it isn't an accessory. anyways, you'll get more responses about it in this forum.

Geez, I know I won't be doing any of the other things you can do with a TV for about the first month-and-a-half after Xbox360 release. That definitely makes my TV an Xbox peripheral, at least in the short run.

you could take it that way, but was it built specifically for the xbox360?
that's what the hardware forum is for if you're talking peripherals. also it's for elaborating on the internal hardware itself. that's where the tutorials and such are for.
also, i do have to agree, i haven't watched tv since i got xbl. i doubt anything will change with the 360.
the hdtv hdmi-ready tv is a good idea. at least, that's my tv, so i have to back it up. :top:

I came across this 30" HD-TV for £550, seems to have got some excellent reviews from the people who have purchased it as well

I bought this one

It is HD ready but doesn't have a HDMI connector but I'm not really that bothered about. The Dell has better sound and should be faster enough the fast pace gaming. I also have a Dell PC so it will go nicely in the room as well :D

Jintel, just to clarify things for people. If it doesn't have HDMI or DVI, then it is not "HD Ready". This does not mean that it can't handle 720p etc., but it does not conform to the European Hight Def specification.
Back on topic, I've gone for the 26" Samsung LE26R41BD, which is perfect for my gaming setup. £600 is all it took, plus a wall bracket!

Arrr. Well the Dell does have DVI and supports 720p. It will be better than my Toshiba 42" LCD rear projection TV anyway.
Thanks
