Incase for some reason your confused, that would be the lead singer lol. For me it has to be:

5)Axl Rose(Guns n' Roses): He's just on there because how nuts he is. His shows were always insane, he just had a vibe to him. Great (but not so great) front man.

4)Brent Smith(Shinedown): Amazing performer. His stage presence is insane. He can really get the crowd going. Strong Shinedown fan, great voice as well.

3)Aaron Lewis(Staind): Simple; Amazing lyrics, strong voice, loved the band since the begging. Haven't disliked a single track of theirs. Great frontman.

2)Steven Tyler(Aero Smith): You just can't question Steven Tyler. He's a great singer. Not into the new stuff, but who can say they've never in there life liked a Aero Smith song?

...honestly, I can't pick a number one. This list was hard to decide honestly, I have to throw some names in like James Hetfield(Metallica), Brandon Boyd(Incubus), Billy Floyd(Smilin' McGee: Local band, his an amazing amazing vocalist and awsome person)...but if I had to give it to someone I'd have to say:

1)Rob Zombie(White Zombie/Rob Zombie): Man, if you haven't had the pleasure of witnessing Mr. Zombie live, you haven't seen everything life has to offer. He's such a great frontman. Its insane. The intensity he gives off is just breathtaking. He can drive any crowd crazy. I'll give him my #1 spot.

1. Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Band) - influential figure in music. Great guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and is the best frontman i've seen live. Ever.

2. Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Peeping Tom, Fantomas, Tomahawk...) - Pure genius. If anyone makes me want to form a band, it's this man. I haven't seen him live, but I know he would be get to number 1 if I had. Best voice ever.

3. James Hetfield (Metallica) - Amazing live, great songwriter, sound musician and can still make a crowd go wild at 40.

I can't really decide any others. I love so many frontmen, but I couldn't whittle them down like I did there.
Mentions:

Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave)
Layne Staley (Alice in Chains)
Zak De La Rocha (Rage Against The Machine)
Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Superjoint Ritual)
Simon Neill (Biffy Clyro, Marmaduke Duke)
Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)

just because angus young wasnt a vocalist doesnt mean he wasnt a frontman . the frontman is like, the leader of the show.

I'd still say Brian Johnson led the show.

And careful with your language.

I still miss Bon Scott of AC/DC now that guy put on a show too bad choked to death on his own vomit. I stll think 1974-1980 were the golden years for AC/DC when Scott was with them.

I've always preferred Brian, their best stuff came after Bon's death. Bit ironic that one of his last songs was Highway To Hell though.
