Well, I finally got the chance to play a lot of 360 on a lot of TV. My family rented a house for holiday about a week ago and it had a 51" Mistubishi Projection HDTV. I hooked up my Xbox 360 and IT was great quality!!! And yet, I was unsatisfied. The quality really wasnt that much better than standard, not $1,000 better anyway. The HDTV was big and clear, You could actually see the battery gauge. But when I got home and played standard def, there wasnt that much diffrence at all. And plus, standard def tv on the HD had horrible quality, I mean horrible. If you havent gotten an HDTV yet, I suggest waiting until the technology is improved. The lack of quality on standard TV may have been because it was projection. But, I still think HDTVs are light years ahead of current technology.

Did you use your component cables and set it to 720p or 1080i and remember to switch it to HDTV

Yeah, I switched it to HD and tried 720p and 1080i

Basically what I'm saying is that the quality isnt bad, but it's not worth the money.

It must have been a poor HDTV then. My one made a massive difference. The VGA cable on top of that is another leap in visual quality.

Well, like I said it was a projection so it may have been poor.

I thought it was a huge leap above SDTV. I have a 50" LCD with surround sound at my lake house and a 27" SDTV at home. Games really are less fun on the SDTV.

Well ofcourse the TV itself is a factor to consider when comparing TVs for quality, but you also have to consider the video output that is going into the TV; because If you have a better wire, then you can have more data going through, thus a better image.
