How many people have had a 360 that froze/locked up on them?

My 360 has froze on me soooooo many times, but... has never broke. Because all my problems have been solved by restarting it or changing the position of it.

The only main time that mine froze up was when it died. (Red Ring of Death) And yes, that was during Oblivion for me too. Had to send it into Microsoft and received a new system. So far so good with it. *Knocks on wood*

Mine has frozen around 10 times during Oblivion. This is my 3rd console, BTW. It also reads game discs as DVD movies a lot of the time.

It's not exactly the most reliable system.

Mine has only frozen during Oblivion, and a couple times while accessing the guide menu before the update. The update has fixed the guide menu freezing, my Oblivion hasn't frozen after the Oblivion patch that went out a few months ago also.

Only had freezing problems when playing NHL 2K6, other than that I cant think of any problems.

My 1st box died on me.

The 2nd only freeze if I play games at PAL-60 though you are meant to play them in PAL-50 (I don't do that anymore). And when a game is loading, and I'm sending a chat invite, and hooking up my iPod at the same time.

Mine's has frozen a couple of time playing Oblivion, but only a few times. My Son's will not play PGR3 with all the GFX going completly AWOL but, all other games are fine (wierd).

My has frozen once, but then I was playing Fable. So I know it;s not as capable of running Xbox games. as it wasen't designed for that.

Mine will freeze every once in a while during random games. I just have to restart it. Not a major problem, but does get annoying.

My 360 freezes now and then in Oblivion, but I was able to play all of Call of Duty 2 without it happening once...

I never had a problem with my 360 until I used the "Xsata" to download game saves for ncaa football and various other titles. Since using that 3rd party crap it seem to freeze alot now(on-line/offline).

Be sure to put your power supply on a well ventilated area. Also, try not to put the power supply on a carpet floor if you can. All of this goes for the X360 unit itself too.

Someone needs to explain to me what is so suprising about the 360 locking up from time to time. My computer here at work already froze on me once today. Why would the 360 be different then any other computer. I know it freezes a WHOLE LOT LESS then any other computer I have ever had.

I hope those sony fans out there dont think that there new PS3/computer isnt going to freeze up on them like every other computer in the world. My commodore 64 froze on me from time to time and so does my brand new media center pc.

I cant wait for the first computer in the world is invented that doesnt freeze up from time to time.

No real problems thus far. It did bring up the menu button once while playing Halo 2, but there was inference on the signal with the telephone and microwave going off at the same time.

Other than that, good to go.

I've had my 360 from launch, and i think its frozen twice, maybe three times, i wasn't that bothered by it. But there has been one occasion where game saves have just vanished.

My 360 may have frozen once while playing Oblivion, but it totally died (Red Ring of Death) while just trying to boot to the dashboard. Will be getting a replacement soon...

I´ve had my 360 for about one month now with no problems what so ever... but yesterday and today freezing started to occure, and often. Tried to restart but it didn´t help. The funny thing is that I played TDU for about one hour and then took a brake and when I came back and started playing it frooze right away and about three times after that. So I started playing Saints Row instead, and no problems at all, tested GRAW and bam there it was again...

Why is this happening, I´ve heard that you could clear the cache in some way to make this go away? is this true and how do I do it?

Mine has frozen on me in the past but hasn't for a while. My problem with it is that the tray door won't close (unless I nudge the tray a bit). I'm gonna purchase a new 360 at EB/GameStop with the extended warranty. I'll then send the messed up one to the Circuit City (I purchased the warranty from them) and get my $432 plus gift card and use the gift card to buy movies/games and other stuff from Ccity.

I had mine lock up the first day I had it after playing FN3, PDZ and Kameo but it had been on a good 15 hours. But it hasn't done it since so I'm not too worried, I expect it just got a bit hot. 15 hours is a long time for it to be on but it was the first day I had it, lol.

I have had 3 consoles that have been sent in for repair, one lasted a few months, then the replacement broke the first time i plugged it in, then another failure a little while later. Im good for now though, and all the console replacements were free on ms's warranty. :D
