my xbox keeps reading games as dvds

my xbox keeps reading games as dvds its reads PG3 but i tried obilivion, and graw it says its a dvd. Has anyone had this happen to their xbox and if so do you know anyway of fixing it.

It happens to mine too, but definately not as bad as yours. It's because the 360's DVD drive sucks. You're gonna have to send it in.

I have this problem too, try this:

Eject the disk, then restart the consol, then put in the game.

If that doesn't work, maybe you should send it in. (that is if your warrantee hasen't expired because the 90-day warrantee is a joke.)

Get the lastest dashboard update it fixes up alot of that problem. Also some of the older games have this problem. It's because the xbox 360 games are read from the outside-in. While DVDs are from the inside to outside. So with some of the older games it sometimes skips the outer edge and reads the inner edge that says insert into xbox 360 to play which should only be displayed in the game is put into a DVD player. Ever since the update in May I haven't had this issue. None of the new games have the issue. BTW I have a launch console. This did happen to me for a few months after launch and then went away, I think it was because the disc were bad. Hasn't happened to me ever since.

thanks for all the information i bought it about 2 weeks ago so ill just send it back. i'm going to try to get the update and if that doesn't work ill just get a new one
