..but is John Madden still the commentator in Madden 07? It's just that I haevn't heard anything about the commentary and Madden's commentary made the older Madden games more entertaining...

No, actually he isn't. They thought it would be great idea to have a "local radio broadcast" sound to it. It's just one announcer, and I forgot his name off hand, but he is very well known in some regions of the country for his radio football shows.
It doesn't really work. It's way too quiet, and there's no color commentary.
It just doesn't match the game well.
I do know some football diehards who do listen to AM radio during games to get local flavor (my old man included), but I think most fans like the big broadcast production and well known TV announcers- especially for a videogame. Too bad they didn't use the ESPN guys.
The one good thing about it is you can really hear the player chatter on the field. The smack talk and banter back and forth is just great. EA put in extra effort there IMO, sounds like a real game going on.

Man, that sucks. Having Madden commentate the match made it more interesting. I never got tired of his comments.
Do you know if it's just the 360 version that has this 'local radio broadcast'? or is it all versions?

I miss Maddens voice but his commentary was so repetative I knew what he was going to say most off the time.

If Madden was tired of doing the commentary, they could have hired Frank Caliendo to do him. I'd listen to his impressions of Madden all day long. I mean he could do the real commentary, not jokes, but i like Caliendo's *madden* voice more than i like maddens real voice. haha.

I feel that way about the commentary for college ball.
Pretty much the same every year. I still dig it more than the AM radio guy.

Bastard! :eviltongu
I'm just hoping the Wii version follows the PSP's example and includes Madden. I saw a YouTube video of Madden Wii, and I'm almost certain I heard his voice.
