The fan stand is a decent product...the NYKO intercooler is better in combination with it.
As for the Dust = If it is on carpet, then yes a substantial amount of dust and carpet fibers get kicked around from walking around that yes more dust can enter. If it's on a tile floor - same concept (if you own pets - the hair)
But if you mod them....hint hint hint (Change the fans out for 12v fans then Whoo Hooo then you got a stand!
Have a great one.

From experience yes it does blow dust into the 360. My last 360, before it crashed, had a ton of dust on the bottom of it when I looked and it just had been sitting on the fan stand 2-3 weeks. If all that dust was on the bottom I know a lot got pushed inside of the console. I think it hurts more than helps in the long run. I gave it a chance because I thought it would help out a lot but now its just sitting in the cabinet. I wouldnt buy it or the intercooler, just make sure the console is in an open area with plenty of ventilation but weve all heard this 1,000 times.

@K101 Yes the dust can be blown from the back, but dust will eventually begin to collect on the components inside the case. I dont know about your technical prowess but, my console is a Launch Console and I've already modded the heck out of it, so if the dust gets bad, just crack open the case and blow it out, just like you would (should do) to your PC. I have actually cut the bottom metal motherboard housing and put the 360 back together without the bottom grey plastic grill, to prevent obstruction of air flow. I use a moddified Fan Stand with 3 80mm fans Thermaltake A1352 (72cfm) and changed out the intercooler fans with 2 60mm YSTECH High output fans (40cfm) and then did the 12v fan mod to the internal fans, and my 360 stays COLD, even after long hours of GRAW....... it's in my storage unit (Entertainment Center) and I have no dust.
How did I wire everything from a 12v?...... simple - I used and old PC power supply and jumpered the Green and Black wire and use that to power all of the fans. Outside of screwing with the 360's power. I also have removed and reapplied the heat sinks on the CPU and GPU with Artic Silver 5.
All of these things have.....IMHO helped me prolong the life of my Xbox 360.
Anyways - Enjoy and if you are worried about dust..... just think about your PC..that should have an Intake Fan - Exhaust Fan - CPU fan & power supply fan.
