I know the current XBox has been hacked pretty thoroughly... What do you think about the Xbox 360? Will it be hackable?

I am guessing MS will make it tough, but as with everything in the past... I reckon it will eventually be hacked.

It will eventually get hacked IMO - unless MS put in some form of massive hardware modification protection

it wouldn't matter.....people will always find a way to hack it.

hell people at microsoft will be hacking it.

It is almost certainly going to be hacked. I estimate about 3 weeks before the first mod-chips are being sold.

from what ive heard the xbox360's oporating system might be made free-ware it might just be a rumor though

yeah, i think i heard that rumour on anandtech a few months ago. not really any evidence to back that up and i haven't seen or heard anything about it since.

if you find something on that, i'd love to read it. it sounds like a very interesting concept.

Whats the benefit of making it free-ware?? That would just result in more modding.

Doesnt the connectivity between the 360 and XP or storage devices open many possibilities for hacking?

I heard it on hardocp.com i think it was. Fat chance though, its just not worth it for MS to release the operating system, what are people going to do? Say, check out my comp runnin the 360 OS? That seems lame
