Playstyle: The gameplay is based on WWII and i loved it. The levels are cool and the placings are styled perfectly 8/10
Graphics: Cutting-edge. the graphics are crystal for an FPS. The cut-scenes are great as well. 8.75/10
Selection: Great selection. the only flaw is it is not all around perfect in this style of play because you can not see a full 360 view like either games GoW2.
There were some levels where i was absolutely in love with the game. For example from the first berlin level on i could not tear myself away from the game. I even had to pause to eat dinner with my gf and go right back as soon as i was finished. The airplane level was amazing, the final berlin level was unbelievable. That being said i feel like some of the early levels were bland and i found myself forcing myself through em.
The graphics are very good. Another very surprising thing was the soundtrack. The soundtrack was amazing.
Call of duty 4 was the first call of duty game that i preferred the xbl multiplayer to the pc multiplayer. This one (i'm sure because of the rifles) i prefer on the pc. Either way it was way worth the rent on gamefly and i found it highly entertaining mainly due to the last 6 levels.
Lol I beat it on Veteran the first couple weeks I got it, and it was almost as annoying as CoD3's Veteran. 6 grenades around you because you hid for 5 seconds is kinda stupid.
I loved the campaign in this one more than any other Call Of Duty. As Ultra said, music is awesome. It's only major flaw is the Multiplayer. It SUCKED. I played Cod4's multiplayer A LOT, and when I played the MP on this one, I felt like breaking the disc. Guns aren't balanced, Perks don't feel right, too many get-under-the-map glitches, and worst of all, tanks. I don't care if the tanks aren't as powerful as they usually are. They still annoy the hell out of me.
I could care less about single player. Here's multiplayer
Graphics: nothing bad
Music: I liked how there's the option to turn that crap off now so I don't have to listen to it during a clutch moment or something.
Gameplay: Terrible. Tanks are the dumbest things I've seen. Bouncing betties are jerks. The guns are not balanced at all. Search and destroy got messed up. Bombs are ridiculous. Bullet penetration is more ridiculous. Bayonet=stupid. Black dot for aperture sight is a failure. The telescopic sight (ACOG) still sucks. Why did they put noob tubes in there again? WTF is up with the new perks? Shades? Really? Dead silence got messed up. They screwed up when they tried to put in a fix for modded controllers. Some of us can shoot fast with our finger too. It's called paintball treyarch.
2/10

I'm not trying to complain or anything, but I don't think its fair to base (or review) a game just off of its multiplayer, and not even look at its singleplayer. You don't even get to experience the whole thing if you do that.
The knife really sucked. the hit detection is terrible. aperture sights are retarded, grenade launchers are overpowered, on S&D you can just fire it off right off the bat and get like 1-3 kills.
the maps are terrible, I only like 2 maps, and like half of them are one-sided..
the campaign is incredibly cheesy, Sgt. Sullivan and Roebuck have the same voice actors, they portrayed the russians terribly, and he ending was very cliched.
From what I've played at my friends house, 7/10. Campaign is 'ok' and multiplayer is bearable but the guns are so unbalanced. Level 1-25 is tedius but once there you atleast get an automatic that doesn't have a 20 meter recoil.
WWII Ftl
Modern Warfare Ftw
I believe that the creators of CoD1,2,3,5 (Treyarch) suck. mostly to do with their WWII addiction, and the creators of CoD:MW (Infinity Ward) had the good idea of using guns that aren't frustrating to operate. You aim, you shoot, you cheer, you spontaneously orgasm.
I love it, CoD:WaW has the near exact style of the other epic Call of Duty games, but with so many extra's. The campain is amazing, and gives you a good introduction to all the weapons. The online play is as epic as ever, with the introduction of tanks and flamethrowers, every Call of Duty game adds on to the last, I cant wait for the next one!

I give this game an 8/10.
I couldn't agree more with your post, with the exception of the zombie-nazi aspect of multiplayer, which was the one gem of multi. Raising the flag on the Reichstag after beating it on veteran was an amazing feeling... Competitive play? Terrible. Couldn't make myself play through the first (non-prestige) runthrough. Ironically, I got further in the beta than the actual game release, but I think by that point I realized it wasn't worth replaying those levels and redoing the gun challenges. I just hope that I will re-find the spark with the next CoD game, as I really love their type of game over a "Halo" type any day.
