I had read that Fox was back in on the Halo film. There is a short that the director of the film made that was shown at E3. It is available on Xbox live if you haven't seen it. Looks pretty cool. Once Halo 3 launches and the world sees the money it brings in then hollywood will be putting everything behind this one.

Will it be PG-13 though? I would like to see an R rated Halo movie but the game isn't very bloody so it could work.

The game isn't bloody, but the descriptions in the novels are pretty graphic so the movie, if it follows the novel's canon could be very gory.

I look forward to seeing it more than any other movie. C'mon Fox!

Yeah, in the books the needler is really vicious. It's a shame that it isn't that way in the game.

To follow up on what you said about it being rated R, i think that it would be, cause i mean it is war so of course there will be language, and lots of blood. but i do hope they make one though!

There isn't a lot of blood, gore, or cursing in the games so it could be done as PG-13. I hope not though. One thing I hope that 300 did was make hollywood notice that bloody violent macho man type action movies still can make huge bank and would let Halo out as an R rated film. Probably not since video games are for children. Maybe an unrated director's cut dvd though.

On Bungie's website there is a pic of a real life full size Warthog (puma) that they have built for the movie. Looks awesome!

The only reason the other production studios reneged on the Halo film was that Peter Jackson insisted, or more accurately stated, demanded, that Neill Blomkamp (E3 short film) direct the film. He is a relatively rookie director and this turned many financial backers off. With a 200+ million dollar expected budget, these studios were reluctant to hand over the reigns to a noob. Halo merchandising is a guaranteed seller and a high revenue stream although nothing in the movie industry is a guaranteed blockbuster. Just look at all the other games turned movies which ended up as complete and utter **** bombs (see Doom). I have faith they won't turn Halo into a joke. And dammit, that ****er better be rated R!
