So does any 360 made after June have the new heatsink installed or do i have to pay extra for it

Also what stores have there 360's with built in heatsinks, and how can i tell if it has a heatsink in it

Thanx for your help (hopefully scotracer will answer this thread - he always answers the best )

I think any new model with the HDMI port will have the improved Heat sink. I cannot be sure, but check you get a HDMI port one and you're guaranteed it's a newish model. It shouldn't cost any more.

We haven't heard much about the new model's reliability...so just cross your fingers.

not likely but we won't know until we get the breakdown numbers from ms and those are never 100 % reliable all you can do ia get the box and hope for the best, luckily there is the 3 year warranty to back you up so if you get the red lights you will be taken care of

do you think i should get a regular xbox 360 or the xbox pro with the hdmi port.

I dont get it though, ms upgraded the heatsink and and stuff and added an HDMI port, how would that make it any worse, i thought all it could do is improve

Also, the hdmi port is just for people who got an hdtv right?

The new models should be much more reliable than the previous versions. The pro model is the 20gb version. The lastest models of the pro should have HDMI . The elite is the 120gb model with HDMI standard. HDMI is only used on HDTV's. All the models you find available currently should have the extra heatsinks. They've been putting them in the units since the Elite released.
