Call of Duty 4 - Page 2

Its going to be all I play for awhile. The different sights for your gun, player perks, and challenges make Halo look like the retarded cousin who Drinks Budweiser, shoots Deer from his truck, and watches Nascar. My setup is usually M16, Red point laser (not a fan of the other scope), .45 for secondary, Deep impact, Stopping power, and 2 rockets. Its simple but gets the job done. And for the record, Having the Exp bar at the bottom of the screen and having it show +10 every kill makes it feel like its actually your character and not some drone. The overall effect is a cool mix of tactical run and gun and fun arcade action. I suck at writing reviews, the end.

Campaign 8/10 (Who cares?)

Still gave it an 8 but its kind of short. But still....Im sure people will be spending much more time online. Campaign still has alot of cool things in it though

this game freaking craps supreme all over the previous titles! already finished it and unlocked the cheats n i just bought it this mornin. what are these 'perks' i keep seeing alot about? from what i read, they sound pretty fun n would definately make the game alot better, can some-one tell me how i unlock these 'perks'?

I thought the campaign was too short and not enough people to kill. The story of it is better than the rest,and the environments are cooler also, but the gameplay of the campaign is a little boring. MP owns.

Played the game Saturday and Sunday absolutely amazing. Gameplay awesome, graphics incredible. I've only done a few missions and to be honest it beats Halo3 on every level.

yeah it does blow halo 3 away , but they seriusly need to sort the cr4p server issuse out coz it sucks big time !!!!!!!!!!!

I loved the game, I found the Single player campaign interesting and different which is great. I just wish it was longer as I haven't been online much, more doing SP stuff, so I kind of wish it was longer. Heck even COD 2 and 3 were longer than this.

Still, all that aside, now I am going to see how long it takes to beat veteran mode, so I'll let ya know.

Here is a COD4 time trail question for you. Has anyone cleared F.N.G. under 20 seconds??? This is some hard ass ****! I was luck enough to get 20.45 seconds.

Boost King you are number 2 on my friends list at 23.20s. And sports, LOL. You are last on the list at 49.40s, what happened? I thought you had this game on lock! You better play this section again my friend. And I gotta over 30 friends on my leaderboard list, step it up kid!

I did it in 19 seconds. xXXrpgmanxxx Did it 18.4 seconds. it took alot of tries for me to get it. Need to do under 20 seconds to get the achievement.

I was just checking the world rank and the best time is 11.55 seconds!!! How is that possible?! Anyway, I finally got the achievement and beat it at 18.6 seconds. Since Xbox live was down, it didn't register my score even when it came back online, wtf!

I scooped up CoD4 last night. I'm impressed. It is a great game but it is FAR from the shock and awe I was promised. It maintains that CoD feel yet some of the game play style is reminiscent of GRAW and R6. I wouldn't say it was a blatant knock off but the similarities are uncanny. Even though Live was down last night it didn't matter as my ISP was down as well. I know the MP will be great but I purchase games for SP first and foremost. Anything else is just an added bonus. Many jibber jabbered at the lips about Halo hype, well this game has been receiving just as much lately and those very same people who criticized the "hype" are the exact people who have bought into the **** with CoD4.

You had trouble with it? I got like 19 seconds on my 3rd try.I think a hint might be to use your gun you got earlier at the beginning (I forgot what gun) and not the MP5 you get up next to the rope you rappel on. It has better accuracy, which can give you up to a -3 seconds.Oh, and use hip-fire when shooting the targets

PS I found a bonus obstacle between the shooting range and the "cargo mockup" building. It should be to your left when going to the mockup building. They don't give you any instructions, but I just found it interesting

I was trying this last night, it was freaking hard.

I was told you get points for accuracy, so if you take 3 bullets to hit a target, dont expect a good bonus. I heard you need the machine gun for the first 3 targets, then switch to Pistol for everything else. Also when runnin down the stairs melee the enemy there, and have your flash bang ready to go to quickly throw it to your left, into the Area 4. But no matter how much I try, I am still falling short. Its the time to deploy the flash bangs thats holding me up I think.

Also, try doing the veteran level with the plane, thats near impossible, although the utube vid makes it look so easy.

Speaking of Veteran mode, I did Chapters 1-3 last night on veteran. That area with all teh TV's in it was hard to get past, took a few attempts. In the end I used flash bangs to run right through it and hide down a corridor and pick of enemies 1 by 1 till my squad caught up.

I finally beat it at 18.6 seconds but the damn thing didn't register on the leaderboard because live was down last night. Even when it came back online, it didn't sync up, ****!!!

My biggest problem was getting caught up on the edge of the doorways. This ****ing drove me insane. COD2 had this same problem. Even if it was a small piece of **** on the ground, it would totally stop you from walking. Anyway, at the last step (I think 6), once you toss the flash bang in the room, you have to back out and run to the finish. I would always get caught up on a small edge of the doorway. And to add insult to injury, when clicking the joystick to run, it sometimes wouldn't work, WT........F!!!!!!!!! I thought it was my controller but it wasn't because I used another one. I had other minor problems as well but it was mostly accuracy so I won't ***** about that lol. If anything, those flash bangs are a *****!

For my strategy, I used both of the machine guns so I wouldn't have to reload. I didn't use any melee attacks because the it takes too much time and one second is eternity. When running down the steps, I would shoot the target and have the flash bang ready once coming up on the doorway. I would then toss it in and step back for the flash bang to pop, then go in. Once coming up on target 5, I would switch guns, sprint, shoot the targets, toss the flash bang into the last room, step back until the bang goes off, and then shoot the final targets. And of course, run to the finish line.

Long story short, it wasn't easy. I don't see how someone could have finished in 11.55 seconds.
