Posts: 5,238 | CoD4 No Fighting in the War Room (Veteran) Okay ... After playing through this son of a ***** at least a hundred times I finally figured out how to complete it relatively easy. First, rather than the default 11 minutes you are only provided 9 minutes to upload the abort codes. 2 minutes may not seem all that great but when all enemies are ****ing sharpshooters every second counts.
Most paramount is the checkpoints. I immediately noticed that on certain sections of the map I was not receiving my checkpoints. It wasn't until playing it through from the beginning that the reason dawned on me. You have to reach these certain points within the map in a specific amount of time before a checkpoint will be granted. If you are not granted with a life saver you were too slow and CoD4 deems your mission a failure under the impression that you do not have enough remaining time. Why is this? I have no clue but after another go around I have all the check point markers.
The first checkpoint, after taking out all enemies in the hallways and proceeding to the stairs is your first. You must reach this point on the map no later that 7 minutes and 30 seconds (7:30).
If you have not already procured a Sniper Rifle the standard Assault Rifle you have will suffice. The object here is to move Briggs and and the Captain forward as they are Invincible and will not die. They should smoke most of the oncoming enemies for you while you sneak around taking your first right and working your way down towards the end at a steady pace. Once this hallway has been cleared move out and head towards the next doorway. You have to reach this point in the map no later than five - five and one half minute (5:30). Here you should be granted another checkpoint.
Blast the 2-3 enemies who are not hunkered down behind the crates. Once they have been disposed move down and hold position near the two doors to the left and the right. Briggs and the Captain will follow you down to provide suppressing fire. Chuck a flash bang in the right doorway and immediately follow through and take the enemy out at the end of the catwalk. Move forward and another 2-3 more enemies should emerge from the doorway on the left. After they have been handled toss another flash bang into the room then pick off the remaining enemies at the end of the hallway. move forward and again, 2-3 more enemies will emerge from another door on the left. Take them out, flash bang, and finish off the dudes at the end of the hallway. Move forward, take a right, and proceed into the blast chamber like area. You have to reach this point in the map no later three - two minutes (2:00). You will be granted another check point.
The door will slowly creep open. Pick off the guy who jogs down the center followed by another in the same area. strafe left and take out the dude in the room to your right. Flash bang and move in. To the left is another hallway. Smoke all the enemies down at that end then move towards where you place the C4. You must reach this point no later than two - one minute and thirty seconds (1:30). A checkpoint will be granted. Let you people move in and kill the majority of the enemies inside. Afterwards, go inside to do the custodial work by mopping up the remaining one or two. Then the move towards the keyboard and upload the abort codes. Another check point will be granted and the timer will stop. Finish the mission and call it a day. Took me roughly 6 hours to figure out then complete. Hope it helps because I sure as **** couldn't find any. |

Posts: 5,238 | Go hide behind one of the buildings where you originally came through to drop Mac off (they will chuck deuces but for the most part they will not shoot or pursue you). Hide there until the Helo is about 2000 meters away. Pop out and pick of nearby by enemies then make a run for Mac. |

Posts: 662 | I found the best method was too hide behind the dodgem cars and crouch down. The enemies will run toward you one by one and you can just pick em off. the only hard bit is carrying your mate, but if you throw some flash bangs it seems to work.
Malo, I'm also on the level with the timer.
First you go through the air ducts and your first checkpoint is obviously once you drop out the air vents in the toilets.
I proceeded left, took out hte enemies, went through the corridor, and got to the area where you see a big sort of emblem on the wall on whats a staircase area going down. I have this checkpoint.
The next part is a very long corridor with a option to veer off left or right. I chose right and worked my way around to the Red Area or next checkpoint. This part is where I am stuck. Its basically a straight corridor with a option mid way to go left or right, both are tunnells that look like spirals. I cant get past here. Any tips for this bit. As I run down one tunnel, the guys in the other tunnel take me out.
I've tried to take out the guys dead ahead first with my sniper. Then try throwing flash bangs into the side tunnels, but miracuously they dont get blinded by flash bangs at all, unless you can see the enemy.
Any tips?

Posts: 1,028 | The time limit on No Fighting in the War Room was no prob for me. It was the stupid bugs that pissed me off. I was on the same checkpoint for 4 hours. The part where you can choose to go down the left or right hallway, clear them both out, and then run down the main hallway (original one) and get into the room with the big vault door that Price or whoever that guy is, is SUPPOSED to close wouldn't work. When I get in there with him he keeps on waving tell me to get inside, when I'm already behind him. So, about 30 times I would go back outside that room and blow up by the explosion. I finally restarted the mission after trying everything and it worked on about the 3rd try. |

Posts: 662 | Finally beat it last night after just deciding to keep flashbanging and running with the shotty. It seemed to work. Trick was when you get to the bit with the option to go left or right, throw a flashbang down 1 path, then the other, and then run down that path . it prevents you getting shot in the ass and dying all the time.
Then the final chapter was easy to do, and game finished.
Just need to go back, rescue the farmer, get all the TV's. Wonder if I can do this on easy mode?
Also, I get right to the end of the plane mission but am literally 2 seconds late! Its so hard and annoying. This one is all well timed flashbangs and grenades!

What this guy did the first couple times with the shotty is what you should do. I did it, and after a couple of tries, I got it. Do exactly every move he did.I had tried the mile high club mission 200 times before I watched this, and I could never get near the end. |

Also, 200 times is a bit much for a such a short mission granting you only 20GP. I got to the the last section before you killed the hostage taker over a dozen times but the bomb exploded or I was capped. After that I said **** it ... It's not even worth my time. |

This stage drove me crazy after about fifteen tries. I swear I would have frisbeed this ***** into Pearl Harbor if I didn't see your comment along with other walkthroughs on YouTube. I also just finished Heat, OMG!!! (cry) This will probably be it for me, don't wanna break another controller. Veteran mode is very good at testing one's patience.
For those who are struggling with "Heat" on Veteran mode, check out this video. This should help, I got it on my second try. YouTube - Call Of Duty 4 COD 4 Easy way to do HEAT on Veteran |

Posts: 5,238 | You know what is strange? My buddy had a **** of a time completing Heat on Veteran but I didn't have a problem. I beat it the first go around but I had problems with No Fighting in the War Room while he breezed through it. You are correct though, completing CoD4 or any game on the hardest difficulty is not a matter of skill at all, it's a matter of patience. |
