Posts: 4   |  question about live ID during repair process I recently shipped my console in for repairs. My issue is that' I've had an inactive e-mail linked to my gamer tag for almost a year now. I didn't use MSN on live, so I never bothered to change it after the update. I called in for the repair, and not thinking - I used my new e-mail to register the console. Now I have no way to check my status repair online, because the repair and console are linked to two different e-mails. I got the box and sent it in days ago. So I can't change it from the dashboard. Can I change the e-mail linked to my account over the computer somehow? |

Posts: 4 | Yeah, I knew you could change it via the actual console, but I don't have a console anymore, so I'm interested in changing it over the internet. Customer support is hideous. I can never get anyone who will tell me anything. |

Posts: 2,322 | if you go to the ms xbox website, you can log into your xbox live account there. you should be able to any changes on the computer. i changed all kinds of stuff for my live accoutn from the PC and it worked fine.

Posts: 2,322 | go to the site: Xbox.com | Xbox.com Home signin in the upper right hand corner where it says my xbox. that will take you to your account. use your live handle and password.

Posts: 4 | I know how to get to my account, via xbox.com. But with the repair process being linked to a different e-mail, the current account set up is useless in checking my repair status, as I said in the first post. I'm looking for the option on the web to change my EMAIL linked to my gamertag, not the sign in option. But thanks for the reply, I guess. |

Posts: 2,322 | i logged into my account via xbox.com. under 'my xbox' there is a drop down menu. one of those options says 'manage profile', and in a column on the right hand side there is a link that says 'contact preferences'. it looks like you can change how you want MS to contact you there.
