COD4 Patch is out.

I just got update and COD4 has been patched, although its not what I wanted or what the game needed.

The host migration fix is retarded, instead of it picking new host ingame, it now brings us back to the lobby picks new host them loads back up map and game. this of course doesnt work, as anyone having bad game will just leave lobby, and most will go start new game. The only people who stay are the winners and high scorers, you then have to wait for more people to join, and the teams are unbalanced when game loads back up, and its really more worthwhile to leave lobby when host leaves, meaning THEY HAVNT ****ING FIXED THE PROBLEM.

I think infinty ward are stupid to release a rushed and dodgy patch, there going lose alot to vegas next month, including me.

And i think they made snipers stronger alex.

Damn I'm stuck at work and can't try the patch. Anyone else out there who downloads it, please post your thoughts. I'm curious about the sniper accuracy. I knew it would kick you out of the game back to the lobby if the host left the game, true it isn't as good as it could be by switching hosts on the spot, but I still think thats better than just kicking you all the way out back to the game selection menu. I'm sure there will be additional patches in the future that will address more issues, just keep on sending Infinity Ward your thoughts and requests.

Snipers and ACOG scoped weapons are now a joke, they are far to overpowerd, and are literally a game killer.

I have to say it but the game was far better before patch, all we really needed was the host fix, and that wasn't fixed.

Once vegas2 is out, Im leaving cod4.

i'm looking forward to trying out the snipers because it annoyed the hell out of me that an obvious direct it...wasn't

and it also pissed me off that when the crossfire was eventually correct it didn't kill

No matter how perfect they make a game, I guess there will be something that someone will complain about. Call of Duty 4 is by far the best game I have ever played in my life, period. I loved it before the patch, I will continue to love it after this patch and any other that comes out on the future. Seems to me that you have already made up your mind on COD4 before the patch. If I were a betting man, I'd be willing to put a wager down that if Infinity Ward released a patch that made two prostitutes walk in your front door and give you a beej when you put the disc in, you'd STILL complain.

The sniping problem did need to be fixed. Having the crosshairs directly on someones chest and missing gets very annoying.

They never made the snipers more powerful, they just made them how they were supposed to be in the first place. They aren't over-powered. Anyone that is competent with an Assault Rifle and doesn't run into their line of fire like an eejit can take them out.

My favourite classes now:

M16A4 + ACOG
G36c + ACOG
Barrett M82
M14 + Red-Dot

M16 + Red-Dot + Stopping Power + Claymores + Martyrdom = 32/2 kill ratio. I am absolutely surgical with this weapon.

Agreed with the M16+Red Dot. Since I started Prestige, I have been tearing **** up with it. Also, the M16 with Grenade Launcher does work. What's that? Noob Cannon? **** you pig!

had a sweet run with sabotage last night and got about 600 points one game on that map with the open silos. cod4 is kinda like golf...it can be really frustrating if you are having a streak of bad games, but then have 1 sweet game and it totally redeems itself.

i am trying to work down the list of guns, so i have been using the skoripion smg.

when do you get to choose prestige? at a certain rank? or a certain amount of challenges met? i saw it, but it is still grayed out. what benefits are there to choosing prestige? does it reset your ranking?

Prestige is after rank 55, you keep going thru until you have done it 10 times and have a gold cross as your emblem

LOL...When I'm sitting in a window all cozy-like scoring headshot after headshot and some douchebag comes in there and knifes my ass, I get a great satisfaction when the bastard can't get away from me in time and dies from my grenade. Steady aim is only good for shooting from the hip, I always sight in before I shoot.

I think the snipers are fixed. It seemed a lot better when I was just using them. Also the ACOG scope is a lot better and steadier. The host migration thing is pretty stupid. I thought they would just choose a new host in the game like in Call of Duty 3. Even though it wasn't that important, the new kill cams are awesome I think. Especially for the grenades. If you haven't seen them, you should.

The kill cams are great, i like the grenade kill cam although it annoys me when you see how bloody lucky some of the throws are!
