So after messing around with the NXE for some time I have decided it is much better than the old one and will only improve on the Xbox 360's overall experience; what are your thoughts? Post below, good or bad!
My top three things to do with the NXE:
1) Netflix
2) Install Games to HD
3) Create/Customize an Avatar
Avatar is stupid, wish I could avoid it. Eventually will put some games on the HDD so thats ok. I dont have Netflix. So the only thing that really makes me happy is the party chat. All the messages to and fro to set up a 4 player game between me and my buddies is rediculous. Now we can all just pop into the same party and make decisions on game settings and the such super easily. Awsome feature but it didnt requre a whole new dashboard lol. It looks fine though.
we don't get netflix here so i can count that one out. the avatards are ok, party chat is a good idea. kinda hard to navigate at the moment though, gonna take some time to get used to but overall it looks nicer and more modern than the stale old dashboard. i'd install a game to my HDD if i had any space but i don't so we can rule that out too

Ok, so now that I have KINDA figured out Netflix, I only have a few questions that I would like someone to answer:
1. I saw somewhere that you will be able to use Netflix as long as your a LIVE Gold member. Now that I'm looking at it, it looks like you have to ALSO be a Netflix member, which costs like $10 a month, to stream the vids. So which one is right?
2. I also heard that as long as they are all Gold Members, friends can watch movies together. Is that true?
fallout has never frozen on me, even on my 12 hr session. now i save alot more often thanks to my random freezing.
just to make things worse, i came home last night to find out my daughter had tried to see if my new controller was tea resistant..... im still trying to drip dry the thing.
It's a definite improvement. The use of the old themes is lame and I'm not too sure netflix is worth it now that I've used it but at least the plan is only $9. The avatars seem a little bare boned at the moment, and I hope they don't expect people to pay for digital attire. Game installs rawk. The look and feel is a great step up and finding what you want seems easier. If their was a rating to be had I'd give it a 9.
seriously, how you not love the party chat?? about time!
i agree, the party chat is awesome
i don't quite get the game installs though, i cleared a bunch of stuff i liked so that i could install madden but the load times were the same, the console was quieter but the disc still had to be present

the biggest thing isthe quieter play.. it doesnt do a whole lot for load times as the dvd read speed is already quite high and the games were already optimized for quick loads.
i just am not liking those avatars. layout will take me a bit to re learn; i keep having to search for everything, cause i don't remember where it moved to. i actually haven't played a game since i downloaded the update though.
The game won't change unless you install it. The disk still has to be present for you to run it though. For verification. When it's installed, the disk doesn't need to spin. So it's quieter.

so when you put a game on the harddrive do you need the disk any more?
im shure this is a stupid question but ive not heard much about it other thn you can add them so i really dont know.
