Ten Characters that Should be in Street Fighter IV

After putting seven to eight hours into Capcom’s hotly anticipated Street Fighter IV over the last few weeks, it became apparent that there’s a real lacking of female fighters on the roster. Out of the 25 fighters currently represented, only four of them are female. And if you exclude Chun Li, a regular for almost any Street Fighter title, then you have even less. So with that as a starting point, it’s became even clearer of what fighters are currently missing that would go over well with the Street Fighter fan base. Sure, Yoshinori Ono has said time and time again that no download content would be released for Street Fighter IV in the form of character downloads, but with the lack of Street Fighter III love, we can only hope and dream of these fighters showing their face in updates after Street Fighter IV releases.

Great list. It's really too bad that there won't be any new characters... I mean... if it's going to be another 10+ years until Street Fighter V, what is supposed to hold me over?

Dee Jay and T. Hawk are rumored to be additions in the future due to already having artwork done for the characters for SFIV.

I would think they could intro new characters as dlc. imho

They COULD do that, yes... but as mentioned in the article, Capcom stated they supposedly wouldn't be doing that.

Hopefully they change their minds.

Nice.. I should've searched SF4 and replied to this post earlier.. that's a mighty fine list.. but I didn't see a couple of my favorites.. so I would like to post my very own list right now.. here we go:

10. Guy (sf:alpha/final fight)
9. DeeJay (sf:2)
8. Juni and/or Juli (sf:alpha3)
7. R. Mika (af:alpha)
6. Makoto (sf:3)
5. Skullomania (sf:explus/rival schools)
4. Yun and/or Yang (sf:3)
3. Hugo and Alex (sf:3)
2. Hayate (sf:ex3)
1. Ibuki (sf:3)

and there we have it folks.. Ibuki remains #1 because she is a kick -blam!- ninja with cheeks and beaks. and she has many great moves. For me she's like an Akuma but doesn't take as much damage, and doesn't deal as much either, nice trade off.

What developers say and do are two different things. I imagine there will be DLC characters in the future, when Capcom realizes they want to make money.

I won't be buying SFIV. I am interested in SFIIT HD Remix though...

I hear DeeJay and T-hawk we're sippose to be in this one.. or atleast their character models and move sets had been finished but in a last minute decision they decided to not add them.

It's just a rumor I heard.. T-hawk would be alright... DeeJay would be beast, as he was in sf2
