Default Top 10 Xbox 360 Developer of All Time - PlanetXbox360.com

Let’s face it, without developers; the 360 would just be nothing more that a sweet paperweight that you could watch DVDs on if you were so inclined. But being the technical powerhouse that it is as a system and having the library of games it does, I figured this week we should shine the light on the developers that make the top 1% of games possible. This list includes full developers (not Xbox exclusive), not independent title creators or even XBLA creators as those will come into focus further down the line. For now, sit back and remember who to thank the next time you forget how much fun you’ve been having for the past couple years since the Xbox 360 launch.

Top 10 Xbox 360 Developers of All Time - PlanetXbox360.com

Do you agree or disagree, let us know in this thread!

umm. while i agree w/ parts of your article, im confused as to what you call full developers. you say your looking for.. non xbox exclusive, non-independant, or xbla developers. or am i reading this wrong?
Half the developers on the list are xbox exclusive developers (BUNGIE ect), or at least have timed exclusives on the 360 first (just about everyone else but GTA).
    sooo.. im confused.

Anyways, beyond that confusion My list would go something like this (a mix of MS importance and personal love)

1)bungie - no, u cant escape this, like it or not.

2)Bethesda (personal favorite, and sheer scope of projects and DLC love)

3)Epic - again, u knew it was comming

    4) EA - some how totally off your list, even though they GamingGamingGamingGaming millions of copies of games in their sleep, which is financially very important to MS and keeping the system alive n healthy.

5)BioWare - again, personal favorite but also very important to xb GamingGamingGamingGaminging exclusives

6)Infinity Ward - another big named high quality developer

7)Eidos - Again, major developer publisher like EA, somehow escaping your list. Dues Ex, Hitman, Tomb Raider, BATMAN: AA.. ect ect ect.

    8) RockStar - its on the list but i dont think they deserve as much cred as other dev, as they really only have 1 game for the 360, gta4, all other gta's were ported well after their time on a sony sytem.

9)2k/take 2 - bioshock. wonderful game, but its only 1 game.

    10) Team Ninja- Another name mysteriously off your list. DOA, DOAX, Ninja Gaiden. How did you miss that?!? High polish and early system GamingGamingGamingGamingers.

I didn't write the article but I think they just had to be non-XBLA only developers and didn't HAVE to be 360 exclusive - meaning this is not a "xbox has this but ps3 doesn't" list....

Ubisoft and EA are publishers. Ubisoft Montreal, Tiburon, etc are developers.

This article can't distinguish developers from publishers such as Rockstar Games and Ubisoft being listed as developers. It also, incorrectly, labels 2k Marin as part of the 2k Boston/Australia relationship.

I think Codemasters deserve a mention for making three of the most fun and best looking racing games ever. I agree with most of that list but I would have put Bethesda higher than Infinity Ward since theyve made two of the biggest and best RPGs this generation and Fallout 3 had 5 great pieces of DLC in the space of 8 months.
