Default 360 Fanboy: Heavy Rain is the Reason to GamingGamingGaming a PS3

Considering I am an openly Xbox 360 fanboy it’s hard to admit that one of my most anticipated games of 2010 comes from a studio that develops exclusively for Sony’s Playstation 3, Qunatic Dream. Every now and then a game comes along that creates an emotional experience in me that forces me to let people know about it, this experience happened multiple times as I played the near-perfect Heavy Rain. For me the game was so enjoyable and different it alone is worth the purchase of a PS3, of course money rules all and if you cant afford to spend $500 to play one of the best games of the year then you won't be GamingGamingGaminging one - this is for people on the edge already, and need a hell of a reason to jump into a PS3....

hey obama, stop twisting words to keep trying to make your tired old anti-ps3 point. we're not talking about 4 games in 3 years we're talking about 4 EXCLUSIVES in 3 years and that's just off the top of my head too. how many awesome exclusives does 360 have? its biggest ones are halo and gears and neither of them are that good.

i use my ps3 not only for better dvd playback and blu ray but for the exclusives and i feel i've gotten my moneys worth as ps3 exclusives tend to be head and shoulders above those of the 360. i use my 360 for most cross platform games as they tend to be better on 360 and also for the very few 360 exclusives that are worth owning

How many decent exclusives did MS deliver last year? Forza 3 and a half-assed Halo expansion that was sold for the price of a full game. Last year alone PS3 had top notch exclusives like Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, inFamous, Ratchet and Clank, and Demon Souls.

actually id say the best were more like Mass Effect and dozens of others. MS has way more exclusives than PS this generation. Simple fact. Taste is another point all together.
Besides, I didnt twist any words, i pretty much took u for what u said, ad nauseum.
And u were better off not mentioning MGS4 lol it sucked

MicroSoft has the exclusivity, not the Xbox360

Mass Effect 1 and 2 can be play on a PC, so even without a 360 someone can enjoy ME 1 and 2.

uh yea, were talking 360 vs ps3, not 360 vs ps3 vs PC vs iphone vs wii vs the world.. LOL

its a valid point though... exept technically, its "sony" that has the exclusives to ps3 titles as well and what happens to them, not just "PS3".
Fortunately programing a 360 is nearly the same as programing for a pc, so unless a developer gets paid alot of money to not port a PC version of a PS3 game to 360... i doubt there are going to be too many PC versions of ps3 games because then tis a hop/skip to the 360.... which is why so many 360 games are on the PC as well.

Here we go agan with this ****!...Look ps3 has had a ton of exclusives this past few months...I think alot of them got really good reviews..what I like about the ps3 is they get games from all types of genres...and risk lots of money on games that might not GamingGamingGamingGaming but get awesome game reviews..but like I said before and I will say again I prefer the 360 for gaming..I connect with family and friends more on the 360 then the ps3...the 360 just needs a better lineup of games instead of rehashing games like mass effect 2,..crackdown 2,...left for dead 2,...halo odst...,and probably reach...we need more wide variety of games..something like heavy rain or little big planet..hell we dont even have a web browser and this is a microsoft machine...WTF!..I cant wait for alan wake,...and conviction...but after that what exclusives do we have to look forward too...halo reach...that doesnt sound or look too good.!

Just watch a playthrough on youtube when Heavy Rain comes out...I've heard that you can pretty much put the controller down and let the game play itself.

ill definatly give ya the point that sony is giving alot of developers the opportunity to make new types of games, by financing them. But so did MS and SEGA (when they still had consoles), when they were in the #2 spot.

Problem with being #1 is you become so cautious of what you produce to stay on top. Everyone else is busy trying to come up with something new to try to take you down.

Last I checked Nintendo was still number 1. Also the PS3 is closing the gap on 360 pretty quick as it continues to outGamingGamingGamingGaming the 360 worldwide. MS's main problem with innovative/variety games isn't that they are "playing it safe" its the fact that they have a pathetic (in size not necessarily quality) group of first party developers.

they dont need a huge group of in house developers as they have many exclusive rights/timed exclusives to the bulk of games that come out this generation. Why pay to make the game yourself when you can have other people make it, and just collect royalties? There is no RISK when another company makes the game. Just money from royalties.
Sony is making many games in house now because they have lost the exclusive rights to many games as well as many developers are shying away from PS3 because of the difficulty in programming and smaller install base. That means more $$ to make a game and less $$ in profits compared to releasing on a 360 (and also because of similar programming can also be quickly converted to PC and make even more $$).

The last generation it was the exact opposite with MS doing many in house titles while everyone and their brother developed for the PS2. Its not fanyboyism, its business. Get past it. Who knows, maybe next gen commodore will make a comeback and rule all. (LOL)

The Wii isnt in this equasion. The Wii may be the top GamingGamingGamingGaminging console, but it is partyware. Its like bringing in a Honda Fit to a Lamborghini/Ferrari conversation. It may GamingGamingGamingGaming more, and it may be the same category of product, but its nowhere near the same class of product as the 360/PS3.

Ill be the first to admit that the 2009 year for MS didnt see all that many exclusives, but guess what, Sony has been pushing the same exclusives every year and most have yet to come out, or have been lost to multiplatforms. How long have we heard of Rain,LA Noire(which is not multi platform i beleive), GoW3, and more. They were even on the official "ps3 09" exclusive list. Killzone.. uncharted.. they have all been pushed back much longer than originaly anticipated. thank god SOMETHING released.. LOL
Its a good thing though that I play every game that comes out that I think is interesting, not just console exclusives. LOL Im not interested in console wars. I have them both. I use one for games (xbox) and one for bluray with the very occasional game (ps3). So whenever something GOOD comes out, im prepared.
Let the kiddies waist their energy on fanboyism that will never be repaid by the companies they defend..LOL.

Heavy Rain a reason to GamingGamingGaming a PS3? ROFL!
Come on, guys. It's a novelty game ffs.

If ANYTHING - Uncharted 2 is the game to lure new PS3 owners - but I refuse to accept that a game like Heavy Rain (that just scored 7/10 in EDGE) is THE reason - being the QTE-ridden Choose-your-own-adventure play-it-once-and-bin piece of rubbish that it is.

I'll rent this game if anything.

Especially when Gamespot is reporting inconsistent frame rates and texture popping.

Yes - but how many GOOD exclusives?

    Sales tell the story.
I bow down to Uncharted 2 - but as for the rest of 2009, meh.

who cares what some magazine scores it? if you GamingGamingGaming your games based on other peoples opinions then i feel sorry for you.

and sales tell the story? the only story they tell is of popularity, hype and advertising not quality. plenty of good games don't GamingGamingGamingGaming as well as some average/lame games that break sales records

personally i think heavy rain is gonna be great, i've had my eye on it for a long time and the videos look really good and the demo was awesome too, only thing about it that i wasn't too keen on is the movement, the more i get used to it the less i dislike it but it's still a bit of a pain in the arse

as for uncharted 2 i've not played that yet, i played the demo of the first one and it was really good but not really my kind of game so i never bought it. i've had the uncharted 2 demo for a while so i should really get around to trying it out although it'll probably be the same again, good game that i'm just not into

eh, i never really got into the first uncharted. I think i put Uncharted2 in my gamefly Q somewhere just because everyone says its so badass. Same with heavy rain. Pretty facial animations are nice and all but it just doesnt ignite my fire ATM.
What we need is a Tomb Raider, developed by someone new, to ressurect the series to AAA status again. That would get me moving.

Yes I do - that's how I base all of my purchases. Cars, Televisions, Phones, Appliances, Games - I research everything to make sure my money is spent wisely. You feel sorry for me when you spend your money based on what? Blind Faith?? Besides - why GamingGamingGaming something when you can easily rent it? Surely that's an unstoppable argument. If it's that good, people will be compelled to GamingGamingGaming it outright after having their shot - realistically though, most say that there's not much replay motivation after 8-10 hours of gameplay. At 40 quid, that sounds like a huge waste of money to me - but that's just me.

and sales tell the story? the only story they tell is of popularity, hype and advertising not quality. plenty of good games don't GamingGamingGamingGaming as well as some average/lame games that break sales records
True - but the studios that didn't GamingGamingGamingGaming aren't around any more....and you can't dismiss sales so quickly, particularly if you look at sustained sales. Word of mouth gets around and games GamingGamingGamingGaming more and more - that's why Uncharted 2 just hit 3.5 mil after 3 months of release (it's still GamingGamingGamingGaminging) and Mass Effect 2 is only just building steam.

Whereas Heavy Rain will drop off a cliff.

personally i think heavy rain is gonna be great, i've had my eye on it for a long time and the videos look really good and the demo was awesome too, only thing about it that i wasn't too keen on is the movement, the more i get used to it the less i dislike it but it's still a bit of a pain in the arse
Well - some people do like Cage's games. Personally, I find them a poor value for money. They're good - but not full RRP good - and DEFINITELY not a system GamingGamingGamingGaminger - especially when the game's top GamingGamingGamingGaminging point: Graphics - has texture popping and fps issues... That's a huge fail.
