A lil game time with DOA4 @ G.A.M.E

Well I finally got to play DOA4 at the Game and Music Experience in SF on Saturday. My friends and i got there early so we got some serious game time.

My first impressions? The game play was kinda slow. Which is really disappointing because I wanted this to be my first fighting game. The graphics was cool, but it just didn't make up for the actual game play. I don't know if this is the actual completed game or if they still have some improvements to make. Any one else play it? What do you think.

BTW two best games I saw at the experience weren't 360 games. One was Naruto for game cube and the other was black by EA for xbox.

Black graphics was impressive, especially because it was stretched out on to a movie theatre size screen and it still looked crisp and clear. I actually thought it was a 360 game but the hosts said no its xbox game. Booourns!

Slow this game is not at all. Matches load up within 5 seconds and most of the matches I have played are in the 25 to 45 second range so I am not sure what may have been wrong when you were playing. I was not planning on buying a fighting game, but I am glad I got this one.

It has been postponed a couple of times a week here and a week delay there but it is out now.

I picked it up, and my buddy and I had a blast unlocking things all day....the Spartan character is brutal, and the Halo level is beautiful.
I have to say, character wise, the graphics aren't much of an improvement over previous Dead or Alive. They're still gorgeous, mind you, but not significantly better. Level design is, again, incredible in this game. They are big, very interactive, and very, very good looking. My fav level is the Vegas strip. Kicking someone into traffic is awesome.
I'm not all that good at this game yet, but I still have a blast playing it. It's going to take some time to get to know these characters, there are a LOT of moves to remember.
And the online shop thing is very odd.....I haven't played around much, but apparently when you win you get money, and you can furnish an apartment of sorts........it screams Dead of Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball. And that's not an entirely bad thing.

Also, side note: Those ending movies are BIZARRE. What is UP w/ Brad Wong's acid trip ending? Whew......

Here is the low down on DOA 4 from an avid DOA player....the gameplay is excellent and IS fast. Like was said before matches are from 20-45 seconds. The online play is great too, just as long as you and your opponent have good connections. ie- cable modem vs. a cable modem=VERY little to NO LAG....cable modem vs. (insert slower connection here)=BAD LAG...the only thing I am not 100% sure of is if you have cable vs. cable and a slow connection is IN your room how the lag is (98% good, 2% bad for me so far), but for the most part it only depends on you and the person you are fightings connection. Oh yea...and the difficulty....on Normal it IS pretty hard..but only the last 2-3 opponents. Honestly im not the BEST DOA player, but I think I am definatly pretty good and the end boss is WAY too overpowered and has some of those BS takes half of your life moves and can do come crazy, blood boiling stuff!...that makes the Achievements for time attack pretty damn hard to get too. Other than those tiny flaws, this game is seriously a must have for a 360 owner! I LOVE DOA4...it rocks

Last time i checked I was ranked 15 out of 2000(or so) in Tag survival!! Probly will change soon, but hey... I can brag right now LOL
