Default Dirt + Playseats + Bearing Mod + Buttkicker = Best racing experience on any system.

I own just about every decent racing game made for the 360 and I have to say that Dirt offers the most realistic experience on the 360. First of all, the 360 wheel is wayyyyyyyy more powerful than Forza allows it to be. It will damn near rip the steering wheel out of your hand. It's amazing that the little gear in the wheel has that much force. The game has a tick of frame rate issues which is usally a killer for me but the game play and visuals make up for it 10 fold. The way the cars slide into the corners and the way the wheel becomes unloaded then picks back up is very well done. When I get done with a race I feel the adrinaline rolling through me. When I play Forza, its slow and redundant. Really, dirt should get racing game of the year as the physics are unreal. As someone who races in real life, I can vouch that Dirt is the real deal.

Playseats Evolution and buttkicker: This has been one of the best things I've bought. If you're into racing games, it's a must have. You will be able to use it on what ever system comes out in the future so it's a good investment. I picked up the evolution on amazon for 300 delivered and the buttkicker for 60 bucks new on ebay. If someone wants a buttkicker, hit me up. I have a spare I'll sell for 50 plus shipping. The bearing mod cost me 50 bucks and the wheel is around 100.

LOL. DIRT is NOT NOT NOT NOT real in any way shape or form. Go play RB Rally if you want realistic rally. DIRT is NOT real or even close to it.

I guess he's saying it gives that feeling of realism with the wheel.

I own a wheel, but it doesn't make Dirt's physics realistic. It's an arcade racer all the way. Arguably, PGR3's physics are more realistic.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. It's far from realistic though.

probably the more violent wheel actions make the driving more intense than a more sim like game.

I have the full sim setup. The way the cars roll on the dirt and rebound feels WAY more realistic that FORZA 2. I can feel the different surfaces much more on DIRT than Forza. I have both games. It might feel different with the stick as I don't use the stick for either game. I will tell you that on DIRT, the steering wheel is NIGHT and day better than it's reaction to forza. The wheel feels dead on forza. Don't get me wrong, Forza is great but I dont feel like it's refined to the simulators ie: wheels and pedals like Dirt. Not to mention Forza lacks the incar cam. On Forza you go faster with the stick, on Dirt you can go faster with the wheel as it should be. When the buttkicker rolling and the wheels rocking hard with EVERY bump in the road and the motor is twisting through the stereo, it really is a top notch experience. I can actually feel the shocks working or the wheels spining.

Here's a buddy I race with in real life trying it out. He sucks but you can check it. The motor alone rocks.

see the thing is that dirt is just like need for speed but on dirt. Do you mean that Dirt has more realistic force feedback than forza 2 ? I can believe that, but FM2 is the only simulator the 360 has.

Disagree wholeheartedly.

Forza is asphalt racing. There are not a dozen different surfaces as in Dirt. How does this prove anything?

Again, disagree. You're free to tweak the wheel settings in both games, so if you feel the wheel is "dead", make an adjustment.

What does this have to do with driving physics, which is what your fellow PX360 members are calling you to task on? So you spent money on a set up that 99.5% of us wouldn't waste cash on. How does this bring Dirt's physics from Need for Speed/Mario Kart class to full-blown PC sim physics?

Dirt's a great game, and I gave it exceptional marks, but to say the physics are realistic is nonsense.

My issues with Forza. I can race any one of 8 tracks. I hit the corners the same lap after lap. In Dirt, no two corners are the same. The idea of racing ghost cars is anything but real and 99% of all the online racing is ghost mode in Forza. For those who like feeling like the real deal, forza offered no incar. Even PGR3 delivered on that.

There is no turning up the anything in Forza, it's all very mild. I have to run the dirt settings 1/2 throttle. Anything 3/4 and up and it rips the steering wheel out of your hand.

I like the feel of the road I get with Dirt. It feels flat in Forza. Forza to me feels like GT2. I guess I just like tossing it in sideways and picking up the throttle crossed up.

I race every weekend on dirt and I've had various friends that also race and all have agreed that the physics in Dirt are dead on.

Watching the suspension work in the replays on Dirt in slow mode is unreal technology. You can see the trailing arms, springs and shocks moving with every bump. Unreal.

Bottom line, after playing Dirt, getting back in Forza feels slow.

BTW, Need for speed is horrible.

Ofcourse you're going to get a more violent reaction with the wheel in Dirt. Forza is paved roads and DIRT is.....Dirt. Why would you get violent reactions on a paved track? I don't play with the stick either and FM2 has real characteristics of racing a racecar. DIRT isn't close to how it is when really driving on dirt. No offense but it's hard to believe that you race in dirt unless your racing some Pintos or something if you say DIRT is dead on. Play Richard Burns Rally then tell me DIRT is realistic.

Actually, the pavement parts of dirt feel better. I can feel the wheels grip more.

BTW, what would I know. Here's my Pinto. The screen name says it all.

Pretty cool. I don't need a racing license to tell you that DIRT isn't realistic. If I can take a gravel corner at 100+ floored the whole way its not realistic. Like stated before, play RB Rally and it will make DIRT look like NFS. I've gone through 80% of DIRT without having to redo/restart 1 race whereas I've been trying to beat 1 race on FM2 for over a week now.

Been waiting for that actually. Josh and I can't do the yeoman's work by ourselves.

Dirt's physics engine has you yawing about on a central pivot, instead giving you the sensation of being on four wheels. That's why you are able to snap around corners with ease. Force feedback etc. is fantastic, no doubt, but the actual physics are arcadey to a tee.

But one must ask...a WRC car has Power-steering, how are you going to feel that "pulling" as you described it, to the same degree, at least? Just because a game increases the Force Feed
