Question 'All Perfects' - how do you do it?

Ok, Burnout Revenge is a fantastic game, probably my favourite X360 title - but there's one nagging thing - the achievements. I don't have a Gold account and I see most of the achievements have to be unlocked by participating online. Well since I don't have that, and no intention of doing so, I would like to unlock a few of the 'offline' achievements. Some I've done already, like the 1000 takedowns for example, which was a lot of fun. But I can't seem to get 'all perfects' even in the lowest rank. I've been through each every event, getting 5 stars - so what else do I have to do? I notice there's a 'takedown book' and I've only done say 2/3 of that - does 'all perfects' mean getting 5 stars in every event PLUS the list of things to complete? What am I missing?

No, I have Burnout too and i like it. In order to perfect a level, you must perfect all the races in that rank. I perfected Harmless, the 3 after that then Dangerous. I can't do the one before Dangerous. I only need 3 stars to beat it. The Harmless rank was kinda hard for me to perfect too. Don't worry about the Takedown Book, I'm not even close to that yet, lol. I only did like 9 out of 22. If this helps a person with Burnout, that's awesome.

Unhappy

Ahh, I think I've found what I've missed - it's a test drive thing in Angel Valley, and it is damn hard - very very hard, and my right thumb hurts like heck after holding down that 'boost' button unnaturally for too long. The goal time is 1 min 36 sec, and I once missed out by 0.25 of a second (heartbreak!) and ever since then, I got a couple of 1.37's but they were lucky races that weren't skilful at all in my opinion. I keep hitting a pair of dumpsters if I go at full speed and all the shortcuts don't seem to shave off any extra seconds.

Basically, it bores me if I have to repeat a track over and over and over chasing some unbelievable time, it takes the fun out of what is otherwise a fantastic title. So I think I'll just give up going for the achievements and just go for completion. Why can't they just give you the achievements for each rank? Takes the fun out of it for the casual gamer. I'm not the hardcore type who can sit for hours in front of the same track over and over, getting sore thumbs.

Darn.

I'm the same, i hate redoing tracks chasing the frigen time trials! I only reallly like the races because the crashes and traffic checks are pretty lame and boring imo.

THE TEST TRACKS ARE THE WORST. im talking about the ones were u test out a new car, they are really hard to finish under the right time. i rented burnout and i perfect the first 6 ranks.

Whoa NVR. I only played 15 hours of Burnout, maybe that's why. I beat Tomb Raider in 9 hours though. I see, I didn't get to the one before Dangerous. I think its fearless. That one is hard. But yeah, everyone hates the Preview events. So stupid.

I found that getting perfect on each rank first is easiest. Like, get all perfects on harmless before moving on. I've played for 17hrs and need 50 more stars (10 tracks) to get all perfects. But my 360 is broken so I cant play it X{
