ah, how could i forget wolfenstien 3d. so many hours shooting, so many hours not trying to die to get that high score, and so many hours going along walls trying to find the secret entrances for the treasures.

Remember all the spear of destiny spin offs? and the nocturnal missions for the original wolfenstien 3d?

goldeneye was good too. it was the game i had to buy a gameshark for, so i could beat the challenges and unlock the cheats. and all the split screen action. it was sweet.

I would say the Call of Duty series minus COD3 that game just blew. COD4 has to be the best FPS released in a long time.

Half-Life because it the start of great stories in FPS's

Counter Strike because its the real start to being able to kill your friend 3000 miles away

omg, I had this on a floppy disk when I was a kid. Great game and good choice!

For me its Call of Duty 4. The campaign mode was the ****! Although it sucks that you can't play multiplayer in campaign, it was probably the best single player experience for a FPS i've played. Goldeneye 64 and Halo 3 are my runner ups.

For me Bioshock stands out to do everything a first person shooter can possibly do.

It seems like its the one and only FPS that can cross the action-shooting-rpg-horror survival genres.

And I would say Half Life 2 as a second place.

Goldeneye 007 long before xbox live where you actually had to get your friends in one place is the most fun i ever had on a multiplayer shooter. I'd give second place to Halo CE

maybe because it wasn't the best FPS of all time? just speculating here....
it did look nice, especially for a ps2 game, but it wasn't very fun, in my opinion. some of those guys took more to kill then Rasputin. like that analogy?
