Default Tony Hawks Project 8 Demo **soon**

Activision has confirmed that a demo of Tony Hawk's latest skate 'em-up, Tony Hawk's Project 8 will be appearing on Xbox Live Marketplace "soon".

The news comes from a line of text on the game's official website, which reads: "Check out the playable demo on Xbox Live Marketplace".

The game itself promises new objectives like film and photo goals, an enhanced physics system and a new "impress the locals" function, where you can pull off tricks for civilians and gain yourself "respect." Excellent.

this is supposed to come out today.. i hate having to wait for it and keep checking the marketplace. Cant they say something is going to come out and release it in the morning on the release date?

Thats like a game getting released on a day and eb games tells you they wont give it to you until some time in the night.

I just want to play tony!

Keep an eye on the Marketplace today cause the Tony Hawk demo and Mortal Kombat 3 was released but then was removed for some reason.
I dowloaded the TH demo just before it was removed.
The Xbox Marketplace team are currently working on the problem and have said that some people may see the demo and arcade game and some may not and it has nothing to do with where in the world you live.

The last Tony Hawk game I enjoyed was the original THUG. While the series overall has felt pretty bland to me ever since the original debuted. It wasnt till last year's horrific American Wasteland where I felt the series was going downhill. But after playing the demo of Tony Hawk 8 I think it might have some air left in its lungs. The demo wasnt that big and didnt offer many challenges but its main improvement was the controls. I felt THAW's controls had too loose of controls in the analog sticks, but it feels much smoother in this version.

So what do you guys think about this game..

I have been a fan of the tony hawk series even when they didnt do so good like THUG 2. American wasteland wasnt that bad, love the no loading but there hasnt been much change since THUG. Project 8 with the analog sticks being able to control the feet is so inovative and definitly a great addition to the gameplay. It seemed like the series was just trying to get crazier and more impossible as the new titles rolled out to the point where it wasnt fun to play online with the freaks that could do 30 million in one combo. This time around they re built from the ground up to make it more based on realistic tricks but making them hard to do. Even though the demo was small it was still great to be able to see the new features.

The one thing i hated about american wasteland was that it was obviously designed for the PS2 controller because the D-pad on the 360 was too sensitve for the tricks and the left analog stick was even worse. This time you can tell it was designed to be controllable from the analog stick because not only is the D-pad really easy but now i am getting used to using the analog stick with ease. Which is a good thing because to do the new feature you have to use the L3 and R3 buttons. I would love to hear the rest of your guy's thoughts on the demo and if you are going to be buying the game.

The last Tony Hawk game I bought was for like 3 or so years ago for my gamecube... Since then the series has bored me. It always seems basically the same.

The demo was fun, but its still not that different from the other versions. I like the focus idea, that was cool, but I'll rent this. Too many good games coming out to buy one that isnt quite next-gen or a heavy improvement from previous versions
