Posts: 32 | Game for the wife Haven't bought a game system since 1995 (Nintendo 64) and we're getting a 360 for Christmas. My wife's favorite game was and still is Yoshi's Story. If anyone is familiar with this game (2-D gameplay) I was hoping to get an Xbox equivalent. Anyone know of any?
Sorry so many questions/slash threads. I love the Planet. |

Posts: 841 | My situation is not all that different from many others. I could game all night, the wife... well not so much. So if you are anything like me "WE" are getting a 360 really means "YOU" are getting a 360 and your hope is you can find something of interest for her to hide this fact.
Anyway, what has worked for me (aka games the wife likes) are Tiger Woods Golf (slow paced and easy to control, plus we can play together), several of the Live Arcade games like Feeding Frenzy and Frogger, and World Series of Poker (who know she was a card shark).
Anyway, good luck. And if you are buying the 360 for "WE" I would pass on the Wii. She will understand! Take care~

Posts: 166 | Just a suggestion here. Get a Nintendo DS handheld. My wife loves it more than her PSP and her 360 too! She likes Super Mario 64 DS, Nintendogs and of course the new Super Mario Bros for the DS.
As for the 360 she likes Rainbow Six Vegas, mainly for the character customization that you can get after each rank. Viva Pinata again for the customization and WWE Smackdown vs Raw (wrestling runs in her family). I guess it just depends on your wife's interest and then compare what games offer that for her and what system they are for. |

Posts: 32 | Can't really see putting out the cash for the DS but the game suggestions are good. I got Pinata for the kids for Christmas but I'm bettin' she'll get into it too. Rainbow Six is a good possibility because I remember her liking Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64.
Thanks. |

Posts: 1,143 | Viva pinata is the only one i would reccomend but as Mik said theres plenty of backward compatible games on the Xbox that would fit the bill. Dont forget Blue Dragon is coming, a title that has very litle mention on these forums but its going to be a huge hit.

Posts: 278 | Well the BC is a good place to start but, i would recommend the Xbox Live Marketplace. If she likes old games and top down games, then Xbox Live Arcade is the way forward. Games like Geometry Wars, Assualt Heroes (Played last night and is awesome!) Texas Hold 'em, Uno, Galaga, Defender, Doom and many many more!
Get the 360, and get the 5000 points, it will allow for a good few downloads, and the sweet thing is, you can try before you buy. Get the trail and if she likes it, then get the full game!
Good luck and Merry Christmas!
