Perfect Dark Confirms 360 Software Pricing

September 6, 2005 - Today Microsoft officially announced Perfect Dark Zero Limited Collector's Edition for Xbox 360. The special release includes a comic booklet, a holographic glyph card, and a second disc containing bonus content. The press release also contained two telling bits of information. The first being that PDZ is scheduled for a launch during the "holiday season," which does not necessarily mean it will be available on the day 360 arrives at retail outlets.

The second bit of info was that the standard version of PDZ has an MSRP of $49.99, the same price as a current generation title. The Collector's Edition goes for an additional ten dollars at $59.99, a mark-up that is also in-line with today's standards. Previous speculation along with industry buzz had put 360 titles at $60.00, ten dollars more expensive than current offerings.

We have yet to receive confirmation concerning the price of third party releases, but the fact that we'll be able to pick up Perfect Dark Zero for fifty bucks is a welcome bit of news. We'll have more information on Xbox 360 pricing as it becomes available.
