Games that could have been good but had fatal flaws

I would like players to tell about games that maybe had a good concept but didn't deliver as they could have. The one I would like to mention is Fight Night Round 3. This game is pretty good as far as boxing games go, but it has two major flaws that pretty much make it unplayable.
Flaws:
1. Created boxers will sudenly go from muscle bound to saggy and flabby. This can't be reversed so if you care about what your boxer looks like this can ruin a career.
2. The super punch is so far beyond any other punches power it makes the game unplayable online. You can land 100% of your jabs, hooks, and uppercuts for a number of rounds, or a super punch and get about the same effect. The makers of the game dropped the ball. Rather than being a boxing game of skill it is an arcade type button masher, or in this case analog stick swinger. Very lame, and a waste of money.

I enjoyed the hell out of Round 3, and would not call either issue a "fatal flaw". Your boxers ages, so naturally the physique will change as well. The "super punch", as you put it, comes with the drawbacks of being easily countered, slow to deliver and draining your stamina significantly if you don't connect. This brings balance to the haymaker punch. If you're having problems against online players, work on your parrying. You can see these punches coming a mile away and can dodge or counter effectively most of the time.

ie, fried is right.. if u get whacked with a KO punch, you are not paying attention. put up a block, or dodge it and the you can kick the crap out of him for free for a few seconds and he takes a damage multiplyer for trying.
and over the 30-40 yrs of the boxing carrer, your body isnt going to look like it did when u started in ur 20's. thats called reality


fatal flaws: for me, the biggest was H2. I am big on sticky grenades.. and they frikkin ruined em. a sticky 2 the facemask doesnt kill you? WTF?!? That and the battle rifle sucked.

Bullet witch - absolutely unacceptable gameplay for a next gen title. Should have been held back 6 months for more development.

Another is Pariah for the original xbox. It was supposed to be a blockbuster and ended up being one of the most unoriginal buggy pieces of trash I've ever set eyes on. I wanted to finish it and see out the whole story (what there was of one), but the excruciating bugs and slopping vehicle controls made me shelve it and write that one off. It was just way too frustrating to play.

a game that i was dissapointed in was saints row, dont get me wrong it is a great game but they seriously need to know how to make an ending to a game because i was a little pissed when i got blown up

Cromehounds... I am a huge Mech fan and always have been. I jumped to buy cromehounds and was crushed by the utterly pointless and wrong single player campaign. Sadly it's worse than any other game I have owned ever, with the one possible exception of Wrath Unleashed on the original Xbox....
So I cut my losses and jumped right into the multi-player aspects of the game and racked up 600+ hours of game time. last week I got an old old copy of Mechwarrior 3 on my PC and i hate to say it but it plays better than cromehounds and that has to be a sign that your alleged NEXT GEN game is indeed sub-par and not worthy of any Next Gen Platform at all.

fifa world cup or pretty much all fifa games for that matter became unlayable for me as soon as i realised that a lot of the time you'll tell your player to pass to a specific player and he'll pass it straight to another one on the other side, its ridiculous how many chances on goal i'v lost to the computer ****ing things up for me by not following orders.

there was another really annoying bug about this game but while i was writing i forgot what it was, tried to remember for about 20 mins and my minds still blank (that happens to me a lot, my short term memory is terrible) so i might post back at a later date.

either way fifa sucks and i spent almost $100 on it and played it for less than a week, but after all this thinking about it i'm compelled to play it again.....i'm sure the urge will only last about a day or less

shut it shane, pro evo sucks too, i have it for my psp and its crap, the refs are blind and call every tackle a red card worthy foul! and everyone tells me that the 360 version aint any different

and as for those other annoying things i forgot, i played the game last night (10 times worse than i remember by the way) and i remembered what the irritating things are that make the game unplayable for me......when theres a guy in a great position for a tackle you press the player select button as common sense would tell the game to switch to him......but nooooo it'll switch to almost every other player on the team and let the rival team member just pass right by you. also.....post and crossbar, are they ****ing ball magnets are something? totally unrealistic how often the ball navigates toward them. another thing is that when your running for the ball if you press a button to tackle earlier and it didnt work you'll run upto the ball and as soon as you get it the player will automatically blast the ball across the pitch because you pressed that button like 10 seconds earlier. and lastly strikers tend to run out to the wing just because your winger is running up the wing with the ball......hes running there because he wants to cross!!!! get the **** off his arse and get in the ****ing box you so called striker!!! this tends to leave you crossing the ball into a box that is dominated by defenders with maybe 1 attacker in.

in conclusion i ****ing hate this game and its totally unplayable IMO. i dont know why i didnt sell it a few days after i got it, after the stupidness of pro evo and the above problems of fifa i've been put off football games for life!

YOU HAVE IT ON PSP!!! that dont bloody count, get it for a real console and then we'll talk. Its the best footy game out there and is a god among mortals(such as fifa)

I've loved every Tony Hawk game, but it seems like they all get to the point where the challenges are nearly impossible to complete. P8 seems a little better, but you are still asked to do some ridiculous tasks to get the "sick" scores.
