Posts: 4,837 | its a bit played out now though, i dont think many people want it anymore, and like oblivion it doesnt have multiplayer which in my eyes makes it an incomplete game in this generation

Posts: 45 | Well that gives me a bit to think about. . .
Althoug hI agree with the point that shooters are loosing the touch. I mean dont get me wrong I love shooters, but other than stunning graphics what else does R6 provide that seprate it from the rest?
Oblivian is different, it doesnt have a multiplayer because it doesnt need one, many people enjoy it without multiplayer and if it had one it would ruin the game. some games are better as singleplayer. And if you stripped it of its good graphics would it still be a good game? I bet so. Think about WoW it has not-that-good graphics and its greatly succesfull. Oblivion seems like the best choice for now.
Even though I like both styles and genres, and dont prefer one over the other. . . .is there anything else anyone has to say? |

Originally Posted by Ottis other than stunning graphics what else does R6 provide that seprate it from the rest? | rainbow 6 is full of features that separate it from other shooters (i can only think of a few from the top of my head) but for starters the game is ultra realistic, its not the kinda game where you take 100 rounds until your health goes to zero and you die, you take about 2-3 shots to the body or 1 shot to the head and everyone else takes the same, this can vary as you can strategically prepare your guy for battle by selecting exactly what body armour he wears and where he wears it and what strength/mobility ratio you are most comfortable with.
The cover system is great, particularly in multiplayer as it gives the game an extra challenge when your fighting an enemy behind cover, especially when you know that they (or you) can be killed by a short burst of fire.
this part depends on your personal opinion but i much prefer the fact that the game is mostly indoor, room to room, up close and personal killing, as opposed to a game like graw where your outdoors and shooting from far away and most kills are kinda like a snipe because of the distance.
the weapons are great and unlike most other shooters, unfortunately the M4 and other US military assault rifles arent available but i'm hoping that they release these as DLC sometime because they are great weapons, however this does not mean that the games weapons arent great, there is a huge range of weapons complete with stats and you can attatch/detatch silencers to any weapon while actually playing the game, most games dont allow you to customise your weapons but R6 allows you to equip the weapons with scopes, high capacity magazines and laser sights etc. in addition to these you can also get special weapons such as SWAT tactical bulletproof shields for plans of attack that may include you having to be out in the open without cover.
i cant fault this game in any way, i really do think that it's the best game availible for the 360, and definately the best/most unique shooter.
the poll you made speaks for itself, R6 is just a much better game Quote:

Posts: 45 | Well, alex you make a good point, altough I havent played R6 and have no room for judgement or aproval, I can see that what you saying is legitamint, and I am considering purchasing the game at some time, But I dont see why you call WoW or Oblivian a "nerd game" because I have seen many people play them, along with playing other games like R6 and all the rest, you shouldnt be so close minded about the game style. . .just becasue it is imaginative and not-so-action-packed-to-the-teeth, doesnt mean it wont be interesting or fun. . .maybe if you give it a try regaurdless of the stereo-type then you might have fun
Although I dont even know you or what you do, or if you have or havent tried the game, I am just using my best judgment of what you previously said, so dont take any of this to heart.
I play any style of game, and am looking forward to buying R6 right after I buy Oblivian

Posts: 515 | Oblivion.... meh.... sucked too much. I had it for a week when I bought it a couple months ago, and decided to bring it back and buy a new game.
I didn't like Oblivion. The graphics sucked, the gameplay was boring, characters looked weird, and the storyline did seem alittle "nerdy" to me. My tastes just don't cater to RPG's; never have. I thought to go out on a limb and try it, and it quickly slapped some sense back into me. 1st: R6:Vegas

Posts: 45 | Your entitled to your opinion, so I'm not gunna say your wrong but in a re-buttle I'll imply mine. i thought the graphics were fair, the gameplay was fun, but not actionpacked, the characters do have a weird loo kto them, but then again it's not earth. . .and the storyline. . well you can play Oblivion for 150 + hours and not touch the main storyline |
