Default COD4'S new contender.. and i dont mean just any contender.

BATTLEFIELD:BAD COMPANY
ETA: june, 2008

CALL OF DUTY 4:

you already now how good the game is. good for infantry lovers and theirs multiplayer rankings too.

BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY:

i think this game was announced ahead of COD4. the nice thing about this is that it has destructable environment(houses, walls, trees, bushes, buildings, bridges) pretty much almost everything. plus, the battlefield series always let players fight in vehicles. supercool!

in my own opinion i think BFBC will own COD4.

too bad theres no BFBC for PC.

whats your opinion?

I am greatly looking forward to this. Everytime I see anything about the game it looks better than last time. Modern Combat was possibly my favorite game of last generation, I spent so much time online and plan to do the same with Bad Company.

Without the names of the 2 pictures , i think there both pretty much the same. Nothing really worth getting all excited about. As long as the gameplay is good , i dont think people will stop playing COD 4 for another game just for the graphics.

This reminds me of the COmparaisons of Xbox VS Ps3 games and people try to find things that make a game better on 1 system or the other . lol

man i miss the days when you had Sonic on the Genesis VS Mario on the Nintendo and then you could compare which game was better ...

Sonic for sure. Especially Sonic 3D Blast on Genesis. That game was the sh*t.

Firstly that first pic looks far better then the finished playable COD4, secondly a picture that looks similar to COD4 doesnt make it a contender or anything really, gameplay will decide if its a good game, not a pretty pic.

i've always been a fan of the of the BF series, so i would seriously check this out, myself.
when i think of crappy EA games, i usually focus on crappy sports games. but they have been growing pretty fast over the last couple of years, so i wouldn't doubt if that has spread to other genres as well.
but that is a nice pic...is i from the consoles or from a PC? and will it look that good in game?

As said can look great until you play it and find out its gash.

For me its all about gameplay and realism. COD4 is fast and frantic and real to life is alot of ways. Still room for improvement though.

I thought Rainbow Six: Las Vegas 2 was COD4's contender. Anyway, Battlefield looks sick.

It's actually console exclusive.

Ive been following this game for ages. Watched so many vids. If they keep the style of the previous games : Map size, vehicle control and a battlefield like feel, whilst including a cod4-like control system, then this game will be everything i could ever wish for - along with a joystick for those heli's!

I think COD4s REAL contender will be RB6 LAS Vegas 2 also. For me, when the game comes out I wont be going back to COD4. RB6 LAS Vegas 2 and Warhawk will tie me over for a long time....

Sadly I have a feeling that Battlefield: Bad Company will suspiciously have too many, very CoD4like features. Rather than staying to their vision and making it unique they will most likely adjust their vision to try to emulate and elaborate on the popular features in CoD4 in an attempt to be popular... Only time will truly tell. If Battlefield: bad company is still an EA project then CoD4 has nothing to worry about because EA can usually only manage a passing resemblance to real quality while CoD4 IS real quality..

As for Rainbow Six Vegas and Gears 2 i'm not convinced of any masive shift away from CoD4.. we all know how disappointing many game sequels can be. I will definately at least rent Gears 2 and Rainbow Six 2 but I won't be running to pre-order or buy on launch day..

Couldn't disagree with you more, what cod4 features are you talking about? Killcams? thats really the only feature i can think of that cod4 has that previous battlefields didnt. Battlefield 2 had pretty much everything cod4 has but more..vehicles, larger maps and this frostbite engine thats far better than the engine that cod4 runs.

As for you mentioning EA i agree with Kona Polangi when he said EA has had a turning point, look at army of two and look at Skate - beating its rival. And also Fifa 08 made a good step up from previous versions.

As for these comparisons i think the thread has it mixed up, because cod4 and battlefield should not be put side by side, the two experiences are way different.

Cod4 vs Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Battlefield Bad Company vs Frontlines
