Way to many FPS and Racing games for 360?

It seems like every game I look at is a FPS shooter up game or racing, while I like those type games I usually only play one of each. Seems like they should have a lot other type coming out at launch like maybe a flight sim, motor cycle racing or boat racing or something differnt than all these FPS games.

Honeslty whos going to buy all 10+ FPS games coming out? You usually have one you like and you play that, beat it then play multiplayer. I have played CS for YEARS.

Anyone else feel they should have a greater variety of games at launch? I know they will come in time but some of these games arnt going to do so well vs the ones that are really good. They only have one fighting game too, which happens to be a type I like, I happen to not like dead or alive.

I think the 360's launch is covering some of the major gaming genres:
RPG lovers: Oblivion
FPS addicts: CoD2, PDZ
Racing gamers: NFS: MW, PGR3
Platform people: Kameo
Fighting guys: DoA4
Sports fans: NBA 2K6, madden 2006, NBA Live '06

Although the launch covers the typical major Xbox groups, I do agree that some genres are left virtually untouched. However, it's shaping up to be the best launch in HISTORY!

I agree. The launch may not seem too diverse, but it touches on the main genres. It may lack in some areas and have a bit more in others. This is the most balanced launch I have ever seen in my lifetime.

It also includes a lot of sequels to very successful games, which is a good approach, but brings one very original, very promising game with it as well: Kameo. I think the 360's launch is the greatest in video game history.

Nobody seems to know why the racing games look totally next gen. while all the other platforms lag behind?

I think they all around even, racing games SEEM better because the detail they can put into cars, shiny cars.

It's not just the car skins that look good...if you notice the enviroments
don't have that cartoony look like all the other games.All the games look good
but the racing enviroments cant be touched and that's probably why so many racers will be availible at launch.

I love FPS I just wish there would be more Action-RPGs coming out.

FPS are getting old.. There needs to be some more innovation.

One fighting game, one RPG, one action RPG, good sports line up though

Id like to see a few flight sims, maybe a naval sim, someone inovate the controls of a RTS game or two especially with live. A few platforms.

I know they will come in time but I sure wouldnt want to be one of the FPS makers at launch because 1 or 2 will clearly be better and I doubt the rest will do great. Id LOVE to see a multiplayer Flight sim CO op and head to head. Has it been done yet?

Thats one thing I dont like about counsoles, they seem to leach on to a few game types instead of trying to break into new ones like the PC does so well. I hope the 360 breaks this trend because I'm tired of paying mega bucks to play freaking games on a CPU and its much more comfortable on the couch on the big screen.

They do however seem to be breaking into the MMORPG market which is good because we all know thats a large market. Now break into some more PC markets like RTS, Naval sims, flight sims.
