omfg stupid game keeps restarting me

ok i've been playing cod2 since i got it and i've made it over half way through the game and then all of the sudden restarts me from the very first lvl...this is the second time it's done it to me and it's starting to p*ss me off to the point where i don't wanna play it anymore...has it happened to any of you guys?

take an hour to cool down or get an outside fan on the 360, it may be getting to hot, or look at the discs for scratches.

Yeah lookt at the disco for damage, CoD2 started to freeze in the middle of the battle on the same spot twice, and i just clean the CD and problem fixed

i got it fixed...it wasn't the disk or the 360 heating up...it was just a screwed up file on my harddrive that i finally got rid of

no it was a screwed up save file for call of duty that for some reason wouldn't delete...but i turned on my 360 today and it was finally gone (i knew bc i had to start a new game)

i have been having this same problem.i got to the end of the british campaign then all of a sudden i have to restart.when you said you deleted a bad file what do you mean?.is it one from cod2 or something else

WOW!!! it just happened to me again and i only had like 2 missions left b4 beating the game...i have no clue how that game passed inspection because with this glitch it is clearly not ready

p.s. something else happened too what my step-dad was playing on his account...he was loading the first british lvl and it said something like error deploytrenches out of date and then something in parentheses and then put him back on the main menu and he can't load that level.

I had the same problem aswell. I also deleted the saved cod2 file on my hdd, but it didn't work. So I ended up having to delete my saved file and also my profile and so fars its been working good. I have played the russian campaign and then turned of my xbox 360 and came back a couple hours later and all my saved games are still there and it still has not taken me back to training. I will keep you posted as to what happens when i get further in the game. I have yet to make it past the british campaign. Try deleting your profile and then making a new one. you can still use the same name when you create a new profile.

Crap - this happened to me today too, I thought it was because I installed the network adapter, set everything up for xbox live, etc., and thought maybe I did something with my profile. However, reading this makes me wonder if there is a serious bug with the program. I had finished the Russian campaign last night and I had to restart the whole thing again this afternoon when I loaded it back up.

Wonder what the problem could be.......

I'll be pissed if it happens again. Esp. if I was near completion of the game.

This same damn thing happened to me. I got to the second-to-last mission the other day, saved my game and exited. Tonight I turn it on, resume the mission, and viola, it starts me back at the fackin' beginning. WTF

i had the same problem.what i did was after each misson i save and quit then there was no more problems.so after you beat the misson save and quit then resume game.i havent had that problem no more

ok i know this is getting kind of old now but today i found a walmart that still had call of duty 2 and i exchanged mine and got it. so i bring it home and start to play and i can't start a new game(same thing as before)...so i delete my saved files and try to play and it still doesn't work (the main menu doesn't have new game it just has mission select) so then i delete my account and restore it and it still doesn't work...so now i'm starting to get pissed and i format my harddrive...and it still doesn't work so i format it like 3 times and still doesn't work...i think i still have that f'ed up data on my xbox's harddrive but i'm not sure...i called microsoft and the guy asked me if i wanted to send it off and i told him that i would if i couldn't figure it out b4 hand...some of you guys have had the same (maybe not exactly)problem...if your problem has been like mine after you have formatted and everything and if u have it fixed now plz tell me what u did.
