I'll have to wait on it, I heard it was really similar to Doom 3 and I'm not a big Doom 3 fan.

Firstly it is the exact same game as the pc version. So anyone who says it's not as good as the pc version is talking out of their backside. As for fear i've not played it on the pc yet, but as for quake IV on the pc to 360 comparison visually there's no difference to having a top end pc running this game as the same level of detail is running on the 360. As for the frame rate issue that some people have complained off, i've noticed no slow down on the 360 version, the only time it does freeze slightly is when it autosaves for a second after that it's really smooth and imo its a much better frame rate than the pc version.

I can't compare to the PC version because I haven't played it but I rented Quake today and I thought the game play was excellent. The shading and use of the weapon light were excellent graphics. I haven't got on LIVE yet with it but I can't wait.

I've got both the PC and 360 versions of Q4. Identical game, but on the 360:

- textures are a bit muddier
- noticeably lower framerate at some points (though it never quite becomes a slideshow)

Basically hit the nail on the head there. I have to say that Quake IV is probably the most under rated game on the 360 right now, it's just really fun to play.

I agree.
I finally downloaded the demo this past weekend for Quake, I liked it alot. I made the mistake of buying PDZ when i got my 360. If I could do it again I would get COD2 or QUAKE.

Quake 4 could easily run just fine on the 360 without framerate drops. The problem is it's a port from the PC version. ID wanted it to be available for the 360 at launch, so the port was quick and ugly. If it had been coded for the 360, I'm sure it could run at 120fps without issue.

Default erm............

Hail

I've had quake 4 for a few weeks now and i can say it stands proud next to the pc version. The framerate difference is negligable and while it may share the same engine as Doom 3, Quake 4 is a totally superior experience.
