Anyone else fall in love with Saints Row?

Well, what can I say about the Saints Row Demo...

I think the game has me hooked like crazy !!!!
I downloaded the demo just because I wanted to try a new demo. Besides, other people had downloaded it, comparing the thing to GTA saying it had nothing really different going for it, and this and that.

The first time I tried it, I just played through two missions (just to get a feel for it). First impressions were good: good graphics, cool characters, nice intro, nice music (to me)...

Now, usually I play the same demo two to three times before I let it rot on my hard drive.... But with this game, I astounded myself playing it each and e-ver-ry day after it came out !!! And each time I tried doing different things, like robbing the liquor store, the gun store, shooting cops and getting their shotgun! Even the end of the first initiation mission is different whether you kick a** or get your a** kicked !!! When I went to the gun store, I even saw a guy robbing the place !!! awesome!

The game totally rocks !!! I didn't think the game would get to me that much !!! I really hope this demo is a few months old cause the game promises a lot, and if Volition took the time to polish it (*coughing* screen tearing!, *coughing again* bad popup!), we may have a great game here !!!

Yes but demo's are made and finished a while before there realised, so that demo was probably made over 4weeks ago, and SR is out Sept,1st so that should be good time to iron out problems.

And I cant wait for this game either, its going to be a classic.....until GTA4 comes out anyways.

I think the problem is when people say its a gta clone, or gta ripoff. I wish people could just see that gta was a free roam game. Go anywhere, do anything type of game. It created a whole genre. This game offers more ideas than GTA. Come on ....

You're capable of creating your own character, race, clothes, hair, eyes, even down to the nose, jowls, height, body shape,....

You're capable of visiting the plastic surgeon to get the police off of your back by changing facial characteristics.

( Trust me, I'm obsessed with this game, I read up about it on the official website. )

Who cares what other people negatively thinks. Of course when they play it, and fall in love with it, they'll become hypocrits.

I tell ya, I get HEATED everytime I see someone calling it a GTA ripoff. 95% of games could be compared to a prior game. PREY is copying halo, which copied Duke nukem which copied Doom. They arent COPING they are in the same game cat. FPS. THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE SIMULARITIES!!! You take a great game, get inspired from it, and create a whole new game with better features. What, since GTA came out, there arent allowed to be free roaming, multi mahem explosions, ***** slapping, cop killing games?????? That would be a SAD day for gamers..... OPEN your narrow minded ways!!!!!

Yes, but the difference is Saint's Row is so similar to GTA, you could give it to mostly anyone and say it's GTA4 and they'll believe you. Granted, being a copy doesn't stop Saint's Row from being good (I love it personally), but it's more like GTA than any other 'crime' sim.

Saints Row, ( IMO ) is better than GTA!! I love GTA!! And now I'm in love with Saints Row. I can't wait for the next GTA to debut in 2007.

Saints Row offer better "things" than GTA. Seriously. Who cares if people gets pissed off, when they think Saints Row devs, copied the same source of GTA and they just enhanced the gameplay?

I know Comical...But the thing is, when you're a dev team, one month is not a lot of time to do a lot of things...Especially when it comes to optimizing code to get better performance...

So imagine they got this demo ready like 2 weeks ago, that doesn't leave them a lot of time to take care of those annoying to have and even MORE annoying to correct bugs...

But I do believe (and truly hope) the demo was done some time ago...Even in that demo state the game seems awesome! It's already a clear winner IMO. So if you add just enough time from there to polish the whole performance/graphics thing, then you could actually get a killer-ap (in it's own way! don't get me started about the GTA similarities).

Keep in mind that GTA: SA was released two years earlier than Saint's Row.

personallyi like this game more than gta, i could never get into the gta games on the ps1/ps2 but saints row has me hooked.

on fri night when i came home from work (training for vodafone billing department) i had a few drinks and it affected my eyesight so went on saints row bought alot of alcohol in the game and in between throwing up was trying to shoot ppl with the screen and my own vision blurred.

its a great game judging by the demo and i cant wait for it to come out.the game has everything i want, free roaming, killing ppl for no real reason (im twisted i know) humor, smarter AI for the police, like hide and seek shooting from behind doors, more criminal activity in game i was run over 3 times from crazy run away drivers which was cool and the graphics to me are increadible.i see alot of ppl complaining or mention screen tearing and other flaws but all in all i would say this game is great, possibly a 8.5/9 out of 10 for me personally

The main character runs, jumps and skips along like a girl. The car sections are a bit poor. Felt a bit embarresing. Sort of game for pretend black style gangsters who like to say "ho" and "*****" a lot while yanking on their fake **** pouch. Slight improvement on GTA, just not as classic. Stamping on innocent peoples heads is fun for about 2 min.
