Posts: 515 | I would imagine that GoW is going to suffer, and $$ will decline once the release of Halo 3. Halo is a natural born killer when it comes to popularity, demand, and profits. And because of this, I can assume that Halo will probably kill the sales of all the games in the 360 library. It is such a colossally acclaimed title that many will go out of their way to pay & play this game.
The new content for GoW and others are only there in hopes that people will still stay loyal and continue playing. I'm willing to bet that more content is going to be released, possibly for CHEAPER in hopes that fans continue to lend some thought to GoW(and other games).
Supply and demand are powerful things, both for the consumer and the suppliers. They pretty much dictate the nature of the beast (profit), and can sum up how business IS business. Halo screws with that, not so much with Microsoft(haha, not at all), but with Epic and other developers who spend their time, money, and resources to make profit. Epic knows they had their spotlight, just like any big game does. But it will soon be distinguished, just like any big name title before it. They already made their riches, that's why they sold GoW, when they did. BEFORE HALO.
Soon, we will have Epic releasing content for free. Why? Because they want to scrounge up as many, if any, players that will still stick around to play their product. Right now, many people are still playing, so they can AFFORD to price the content. Especially when many people are ansty for new content and Halo 3.
