Never mind the story, lets just hope that what they DO give us is a bit more challenging. Hardcore mode was WAAAAY too easy

I don't think it was WAAAYYYY easy. Splinter: Double Agent on the hardest difficulty was easy. Now R6 on realistic took me a few days.

gears is too good to be improved upon by making gears 2
they should milk it for a couple of years by releasing a map pack every 2 months and then the developers should move on to make a different style of game

Insane is actually a challenge, but the rest aren't. Me and my friend are currently trying to beat it on Insane. So far, I've done 1-4 on Insane, and just need to defeat General RAAM. My friend has beaten 1-3, and we are on Act 4 now. I'm helping him out. Then we got to help me beat the game as Dom, and I take the game back to Blockbuster tomorrow...

MGS4 was supposed to be released this year as many who had "connections" implied this was confirmed. Also it's an Epic work and not a MS work.

It's amazing that it's always a family member or a friend and never actually the author of the post that works for Microsoft or any other software company.
By the way I'm not saying your lying but the amount of forums I've been on and someone has said that, means that nearly everyone in America must have a relative that works at Microsoft.

Also have I ever mentioned that Bill Gates is my sister, well he was before the sex change.

Im pretty sure MS have no idea when gears2 will be out, our guess is good as theres lol.

youll need to ask head dev at epic in charge of GOW2, and he may know, but probably not knowing game devolping.

Again, Gears of War is developed by Epic and not Microsoft. All testing for Gears is done by Epic internally.

I severly doubt this at all. MS was totally running along side Epic giving them deliverables for a presentation at E3, as well as a launch date. Epic games were working with Microsoft representitives constantly both in terms of its content and gameplay, bugs etc. Watch the collecters edition disc that came with Gears, theres a decent docco on this, and its quite clear MS was heavily involved. Did you all know MS was arguing with Epic on the inclusion of the chainsaw???? They wanted out, and Epic had a battle with MS over it.

I would say that MS would definately know about GOW2, a street date and rough schedule. Dont expect it to be posted on the MS lunchroom noticeboard, I'd expect these cards are quite close to MS chest. But to think MS isn't pulling Epics' strings, or at least strumming them, is absurd and ignorant.

After the success Epic had with Gears and considering the upcoming UT3, I think it's Epic who has the leverage in this situation. Gears of War made MS a grip of cheddar so I doubt they would jeopardize their business relationship especially with what is on the line. Gears of War on the PS3? Keep pushing Epic and it just might happen. (look how the entire UT3 is unfolding ... Doesn't look good)

For arguments sake, let's say MS is the Epic puppet master. Even with all the "connections'' gaming journalist had did they ever finagle their way into a Halo 3 release date? No as only assumption and estimates were made. "Q4 2007" narrows it down fairly well anyway but an actual date was never given until Bungie came clean.

It's Epic's baby and they'll cry if the want to ... Cry if they want to ... Cry if the want to! (see UT3)

who cares gears of war was completely overrated. when i first got my 360 i would rather play halo 2 online than gears. Gears Sucked up mp now we got cod4 and halo 3 which are both better mp games. single player had no story whatsoever. i hope gears of war 2 never comes out
