Once that bastard General Raam falls you are overwhelmed with a sense of accomplishment. That in itself was well worth the frustration. |

Posts: 103 | multiplayer wouldn't be so bad if people didn't use the glitches all the time. i'm talking the 12 and 13 yr. olds who curse like no other. and i guess the adults who wish they were 12 and 13 again as well. i guess you'll have that problem on any game now-a-days.
but i do strive to be as good as this: YouTube - Gears of War - headshot

But wow, you know you have completely lost all grip on reality when you record a montage of yourself playing Gears. |

Posts: 646 | I thought I was crap at GOW multiplayer. My first few hundred matches, I was getting pulverised. It was then I realised that there was a difference between Red and Silver games. Once I picked a silver game, my performance improved 10 fold. Yes, lag, causes one to think their skill is poor. Once I knew this, I started playing all silver games and became quite good actually.
I then discovered if I hosted to my aussie friends, it was even better again. As the host I was pulling shots off like mad, and doing a great job again. So, try hosting and see how good you can really be.
I was quite annoyed the other night, some guys were obviously checking out my gamer card and asked if I boosted the seriously acheivement. I said, dude, 6 months of hard yarns got me that acheivement and its with pride, that I use that Marcus gamerpic as a testatment to that acheivement. Apparantly people are finding ways to unlock it illegitamately, which is really really concerning if this is the case. Has anyone heard of this? Who else here has legitimately earned seriously?
Thanks everyone. Little punks, challenge me will they.
Also, I am a bit rusty now given I haven't touched it in ages, since around May 07.

Posts: 117 | Yes, I am a terrible Gears player on multiplayer. I kick the game's ass on co-op and regular story-modes, though. Haven't played in months, but now that the maps are free, I'm going back for the multiplayer stuff. |

Posts: 103 | I will smoke all of you in gears...seriously without using host advantage or actives...gears to me is all about timing and communication...when you start a match you should know exactly wut weapon you are going for,if your teamate wants the weapon go with him and back him up,for all you sorry players you can just go around 2pieceing everyone with the melee and shotgun, also wut people have to remember is the timing from point of spawn to the weapons being picked up,for instance if a sniper is picked up on canals theres only 2places the enemy can be...right?...also just keep a eye on the bottom left corner to see wut the enemies have that way u can plan your moves and you guys wouldnt get owned as much hahahahahah...send me a invite..soooo you can get schooled hahahahah.... |

Posts: 2,573 | Ummmm thanks for the advice lmfao. Everything that you have stated is completely ****ing obvious ****. Who would have thought that if the screen shows that the sniper was picked up, then someone picked up the sniper? I appreciate your research detective, but my tactics have never failed me. |

I know it's crazy but it's true. I am mediocre at Gears of War but I never was diggin' the 3rd person view and this is possibly why I never got big in to it. Other than that, bragging that you are l33tn3ss at Gears is like bragging that you have clamidia because you banged so many chicks. Yeah you scored a lot but what did it get you? |

Posts: 646 | I've played through single player around 23 times.
I'll explain.
I played it on my own on Casual ,then on Hardcore, then on Insane, then on Coop (+4). I was done, all acheivements earned.
Then my younger bro wanted me to do it for him as well.
So repeat above all over again (another +4).
Then my nephew wanted it cause he bitched to my wife that I helped one and not the other. (so another 4 cause we skipped casual).(+3)
6 months later, created a new profile for kicks, and did it all again (+4)
Then I got the PC version, did it on Hardcore, Insane, Coop (+3).
Then I lost all my saves at the end of the game, so did it all again (+3)
Lost my saves again !!!!! Did it another 2 times (still haven't done coop yet) (+2).
Then my younger bro and nephew wanted to experience the new content so I helped them through Act 5 each.
So all up thats 23 times I've played through this game.
Funny, is I still enjoy doing it. The game is great.
I pray GOW2 lives up to the first experience.

Posts: 2,573 | Agreed Boost. I haven't played near as many times as you but I've played 3 times through and they were all so fun. If GoW2 lives up the the experience I had with GoW I will be one happy muchacho.
Lmao to the nephew's bitching. |
