Gears is a up close n personal shooter, the others are not. Not a fair comparason in my opinion. | I said online, as in an online game, regardless of if its 1st person or not.
I never said I didn't like Gears, I loved the single player and co op and will be buying the sequel.
Also, I couldn't give a monkeys toss if Gears still attracts the crowds online. I'm not a sheep, I only shag them.

Posts: 662 | Last time I checked, when your shot, your dead, so respawning to me is unrealistic.
But I like fighting made up creatures like locust, so I am being hypocritical.
You also have a good point, thats what annex and king of the hill are for in GOW. Respawn till you drop.

Posts: 418 | I hope it gets pushed back quite a bit, it doesn't seem like it will be polished enough by November. Might end up with Gears 1.5 or just another Gears with new features.

Posts: 1,133 | Is good news , was just watching a video of the new unreal engine , if they can implement all the new stuff into gears give it a really good storyline and upgrade the visuals contender for GOTY. |

Posts: 3,532 | Great news!! Apart from the fact Gears is the most overrated piece of piss game Ive ever played. Also I may be wrong but how are they going to improve graphics, GOW pushed the 360 to the brink, I dont think the GPU can handle much more. But It can be the best looking game on the planet but if the storyline or gameplay or online is anything like GoW1 then I wouldnt give it the steam off my piss let alone the €60 asking price.

Posts: 662 | What impressed me was another video from the games convention which showed the new features of the unreal engine.
Water effects, shaddowing, and destructable environments. There was also a scene showing like 100 locusts barralling down gridlock. It was amazing, no slow down either.
I also found that you can shoot the floot, break concrete off walls etc. Its got some great features.
As for gears being rushed. When Epic announced GOW 1 at E3, the race was on to a Nov release that year. Epic have already been working on this game for a solid 2 years since GOW1 came out. Also, allot of stuff learnt and done in GOW can also be reused as well, ie allot of character animations, enviroments, walls, buildings etc etc. So its very plausable for a ETA on a final product and I expect it to be A1. And thats what Epic is known for delivering, A1 games.
Very very excited.
PS: You can download a Theme and some exclusive gamer pics from Xbox Live MArketplace right now. Go Get Em.
Note the Gamer Pics are not available for Aussies, so make sure you have a US profile and get them that way. The are free.

Posts: 662 | Thats why I love Epic, their content is free ninteny free!
And those other maps we paid for are also free.
MS forced Epic to charge us for them. Epics motto is not to charge for game content.
But I am still happy to pay, cause its great.
God I am so overjoyed.
Hey Malo, I saw a article about the guy who made the darkness is also making another game, think its possibly Darkness 2?

Posts: 662 | I liked how you can shoot the concreate and timber off teh walls with your torque bow. Also, the concrete floor was busted to reveal steel work underneath. A good opportunity on say a duel level to open up a hole to shoot a torque bow through to lower level.
Exciting possibilities.
Also, I think GOW push the system at the time, but its not fully discovered, if thats the case games like Biiosock and COD4 etc cant be touted as looking better. It takes usually 4 years (or the end of the cycle before the game developers max out the hardware.

Posts: 662 | I heard that GOW 360 was capped at 30 fps. It ran solid though. My PC version runs at the max cap of 60fps. Seriously, I hope they increase it over the standard 30 fps, maybe to 45, cause it plays so much better with a nicer framerate. You dont notice the diff till you play at 60, then go back to 30, its quite noticable.
I am sure they will accomplish something.

I have not picked up the game since beating the single player. GOW for me has one of the worst online MP that I have ever seen IMO. It really had no replay value for me. Hopefully totally remakes the multiplayer feature for GOW 2. Otherwise I will just rent it.

And that theme that epic were so nice to give us for free, is nothing more then free advertising for them. Every theme pic has a massive 'coming november 2008, Gears of War 2' Thats free advertising for them, yet you act like they just done you a favour.
