Haloish or Realish?

Anybody think that Gears Of War will be fairly realistic or do you think that it will be more of a shootem up like Halo where you run around with a big *** gat and blass fools who get in your way? So far alot of what Im seeing looks really cool because it seems like a cool mix of both.

CliffyB has said if you run out and try to circle strafe an ememy instead of taking cover and playing it smart, you're gonna die. I'm picturing Gears of War to be pretty realistic.

agreed, if you check that preview of it on G4 it showed the gameplay footage and as the developer called it "2nd person shooter" as it wasn't fully back like a 3rd person and of course wasn't a FPS. And in the footage the main character was constantly taking cover and shooting around corners yada yada. Definitely didn't strike me as be much like halo gameplay. And thats a good thing I like games of varying styles, not just a ton of games that play one way and look different you know?

so definitely looking forward to this one coming out, looks great

i like both....i mean, on the one hand its cool to play and be able to get shot and not die right away...but also i like to have realistic game play and have to take cover and protect urself from gun fire

that reminds me. The first time I ever played Full Spectrum Warrior is when I rented it from block buster. The first few minutes i was like: 'OMG" and was glued to my T.V. Thank god it was a friday night I pulled an all nighter too bad I had to pickup my cousin from Phoenix,Sky Harbor INTL Airport at 6:30 AM and I lived in Scottdale which meant it would be an hour drive. LOL that sucked but it was worth beating the whole game in one night. Wow that one part when the .50 cal ambushes you and your whole squad is pinned down and you gotta toss smoke nades.

well judging from what i saw in the trailers i think it'll have that realistic vibe but also have a haloish feel 2 it because of the monsters. A cross between killswitch and resident evil lol

InDeeD it does. I think GOW will play like 3rd person Halo game. Atleast that what it looks like.

From the demos it certainly seems like that but it also felt rigged. Like you have to go this way, ect.

WTF?! lmao, how can you cross those games? impossible! and the graphics dont look like graphics from any of those games. I really cant figure out what that statement means. . .

I'm looking forward to GOW because any innovative gameplay mechanics is always cool if not fun the first go around. Hopefully they'll nail it so its cool AND fun.

I dont want another Halo because, quite frankly, there cant be another halo. Halo is Halo and that is that.

Im really looking forward to this game cause im into the Ghost Recon2 style and i havnt played a horrer game since Silent Hill2. Plus i just like blowing heads off things...

Its more realish, as live said halo is halo and nothing else, this however, looks fantastic, and origional.
