Default Xbox cooler

Everytime I play my xbox it gets really hot in the back and im worried about it overheating. When I play I put a table fan behind it and its starting to bother me. Does anyone have a good sugestion for a cooler. I know the Nyko one is not good.

There are ones out there. The Nyko one as you mentioned. There are also stands that have fans in them as well. Aside from the Internet stories that say the Nyko one can scorch your 360 at the plug. Most of the talk seems to be centered around "stealing" power from the 360 to run the fans. I haven't done much research on this subject (because my Nyco Inter-cooler has been fine) but I would look for something that does not plug into the 360, but rather has its own power source. If you can't find that then my second choice would be one that is USB powered.

To be honest however, if it is in a well ventilated place and you are not experiencing any major problems. I don't think you really need to be concerned. It was designed to run without these attachments. Although, I do understand the need to feel like you should do something about it.

Good luck~

By the way I notice you are new here so Welcome to the site! If you get a chance check out the podcast. It is a great show full of good info. You can download it from links on the front page or get it from iTunes.

Sometimes it is hard to narrow down the cause. It could be heat, it could also be the disk or even an Internet connection problem. Sometimes when my network has a lot going on (ie computer being used, wi-fi laptop on, etc) while I am gaming online it will slow down and sometimes freezes. I personally think the whole "The disk is dirty" message is just what MS decided to have come up when the system can't figure out what is wrong. Something like "Something is wrong... I don't know what... Must be the disk... ".

I would give it some time and see how it goes before you do anything. Make sure it is not the disk (see if it happens with other games). See if it only happens when you are online. Then see about a fan or cooler.

But, that is just my two cents... Good luck~

I have a Nyko cooler and the case is a GREAT deal cooler when I lay my hand on it after a gaming session.

Before I purchesed the Nyko cooler it would be almost to hot to touch on the ourside of my Xbox360.
