Default iPod or Zune?

Hey all. I have a iPod Nano and... well, it's ok, but I'm not real happy with itunes and it's limitations. So, I was thinking of getting the Halo 3 Zune and turning my itunes library into mp3's. Anyone have any experience with the Zune? I'd like to know if you can share your library on more than one pc....I have one at work and three at home, but I can only keep my itunes on one of them. Any other info on the Zune features compared to the Nano?

Anyway, anyone have any opinions on this? Thanks.

Nah man once you download the Zune software it become "linked" to your PC. I already tried to gank a few of my friends WMP libraries but it's a no go. The Zune is bigger and bulky but I quite like it. It has plenty of room for my music collection as well as pictures and videos (30GB). I never bought an iPod but have borrowed them on many occasions. They are good and have their own unique advantages but I still prefer my Zune. Sorry if I couldn't be more elaborative maybe Wicked can help you out since he has one also.

Thanks for the input! I was afraid of that....sounds like itunes (being linked to one pc). That sucks.

I love my iPod video and wouldn't trade it for any other MP3 player out there. I never have problems with it (except iPod's ability to show scratches and marks so easily).

A couple of my friends have a Zune and it's a great product but just a tad too large for me.

Yeah , I've had no problems from my Nano.....really a great piece of hardware except for the lack of radio tuner. It's the software I can't stand. I can't consolidate my library on more than one computer and this is somewhat of a problem as I use different computers. Anyway...it sounds like MS has the same issue with the Zune software....being restricted to using itunes on only one computer is a pain in the butt.

I dont really like ipod.. when it comes to mp3's i dont want to "fit" in.. I want my mp3's shipped to me that NO1 HAS!!.. even tho ipod is great.. its just not for me.. as for zune.. its quite the compeditor. I would rather by a zune than a ipod.. and that iphone is just ridiclous.. no use for it.. paying extra for all those internet functions

Well I've had 2 ipods (nano and mini) and so far ones had to be rebuilt from the inside. I mean my ipod mini has had hard drive malfunctions up the butt. But it used to work fine until I upgraded from itunes 6 to 7. Its being rebuilt right now and I don't know when it will be ready. My uncle is doing it. The nano is actually pretty good. It responds well to the new Itunes. I havent really been interested in the zune. I just like the sleek and simple look of an ipod. I dont listen to music enough to enjoy both though.

I like the WIFI capabilities to share music to other Zune's. Apple has just placed a patent to replicate this technology albeit in a different manner. I use the Zune for music exclusively so it does its job great for me. I have watched a few movies on it as well and I can appreciate the larger screen. It has more bulk and for that it is -5 but it does exactly what I want it to do. As far as being linked to a PC give it time, I am sure a hack will come out eventually enabling you to jack others WMP libraries.

Oh that's so unlike you to not make an ignorant comment...

iPod is still the daddy. The Zune is just fugly and a bit of a brick in my book. I've used one and whilst the audio quality is fine, I much prefer the Click-wheel for browsing. Oh and iTunes FTW!

I personally have the h3 Zune and i love it . I have a ipod nano and had the ipod video but the Zune tops them all . The Zune software will automatically convert any itunes , songs, videos , Podcasts etc to Be able to be played on the zune. So you can use your itunes and then just convert them items to play on your Zune its sooo easy . The screen is great , Fm Radio is awsome * it picks up the stations that are being broadcasted with there name and song title while its playing , battery is good , only down side is the size but even that isnt so bad. I have a case for mine to keep it from getting banged up and scratched since it is the halo edition id like to keep it nice. The wifi is also nice which is able to be turned on or off to conserve battery .

All in All The Zune is my pick !

Thanks for all the info, guys. I'm still on the fence. I guess if I'm gonna get a H3 edition I should hurry before they are discontinued. I may pick one up just to play with it...if nothing else for movies. Concerning itunes and zune software...I wish you could use more than one pc and have the option to consolidate your media between them. Oh well. We'll see what happens.

Get off the fence and buy the Zune. Toy with it for a few days and if you don't like it just return it and buy whatever. No harm done and everyone is a winner.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks again for the input! I'll give it a go.
