Should shane32eire be Banned?

Hello all

I am here about a member of the forum who is harrasing another member due to there race. To me Racism is absolutly unacceptable towards or from any one i am starting this poll to ask for your opinion should racist members be Perma-Banned on any offence if so i believe that shane32eire should be banned from the forum. Please take the poll on your opinion and try to keep the personal abuse to a minimum!!!!!

yeah i think he should be banned, this is the 2nd time in as many months that i have been called a N*gger by someone on this forum and if it happens again without the culpret being perma-banned i'm leaving.

the sad thing is that he'll get away with it because he has "friends" who are mods. anybody who bends the rules for a "friend" shouldnt be a mod in the first place

well, i dont think a poll will change anything. if you want something done about a comment, you need to send it to a mod or matt. I do beleive they can trace anything said in the SB if thats where it happend. As far as racism goes, its ugly. But what is racism? It obviously means different from one person to the next as all the silly libbys call me a racist redneck on this sight though i am neither a racist or a redneck and have never proven to be either. If this poll carried weight at all, then there would be a poll tommorow about myself, or malo, or any number of people on this site who are oppinionated.
Did shane do what you said? dunno, wasnt there.. but probably. Should it be a public chastising?? SURE!! Im all for chastising shane. Should it be a public vote on his permaban?? NO. Absolutely not. This isnt Democracy/mob rule. This site has its law makers and police. No room for vigilanties.

Please send a PM to ALL the mods/Matt, and Im sure it will be brought up for discussion. Shane is always a hot button

he wasnt tryin to be funny, it was a private convo on msn from him to me, and to answer remix's question, "what is racism?" racism is judging a person based on their race which is close to what shane did to me, which i'm offended by, and as you can see by reading the "RE:5 racist?" thread you can see that i'm not a "sensetive" black male, but i know a racial slur when one is hurled at me and i find it offensive

yeah well either way, i think he should be perma banned, its the 2nd time that i've fallen victim to this abuse by members of this forum and neither of those member have been perma-banned, says something about the mods i guess, either way if it happens again without the culpret being perma banned i'm out, and so is a friend that i have on the forum + i'll tell my other friends what this forum is about, if it comes to that, because racism is bull****, people being able to shoot off racial slurs at people should not be tolerated, even tho this forum seems to

If it was a private convorsation using msn which has nothing to do with this site then why should he be banned from here. What shane says on this site should be the only thing he should be able to get banned for. Just don't talk to him on msn and everything will be alright.

i didnt talk to him on MSN, he talked to me, and it happened last week and i never brought it up until he made a reference to the convo on the ban thread calling me an "NP" which both me and shane know the meaning of. when i asked him to explain the meaning he ignored it and strayed from the point. speaks for itself really

If it was on this forum yes. But if it was on another form of communication via AIM or AOL or another forum, no because it wasn't on this forum and if it's not on this forum, the forum rules are useless.

I think maybe voters are confused between the title of the thread, and the subject of the poll. Anyway, you have one member that voted all three options, so the poll is far from scientific.

Banning is not a subject for public debate. This thread should be closed and Matt and the Mod Squad should decide what to do. I have my feelings on the topic, as does everyone else, but they are irrelevant.

I didn't say it wasn't on the forum. I was speaking in general saying that racist matter off forum can't be handled through the forum but racist matter on the forum can be.

Well **** I guess everyone should get banned...

The mods can start monitoring all our conversations on our computers making sure that we don't say anything racist.

I am sorry you got offended. But you have to realize that this is the internet. People will often hide behind their monitors and try to feel superior.

I doubt that Shane will get kicked off seeing as the insults weren't even on this site. And the only thing he said was NP or w/e. I guess you could go to court on terms of harassment over the internet. But frankly wouldn't an apology from Shane be much easier?

I am against racism but I don't understand why this thread was made? It is the moderators job to make the decision and all this is doing is causing controversy and publicly scorning Shane.
