Default Week 8

Here is how week 8 finished out as;

NVR Defeats Malo 17-12
Jack Defeats Middy 13-9
Recon Defeats Matt 12-8
Tobli Defeats Hollyhood 11-9
Chance Defeats Thor 16-17
Tek Defeats 2010 15-11

Nearly half the season is in the books but so far, and maybe with the exception of 2010, everyone is still in this. It's fairly close throughout each division with the second or third place teams only a game or two behind the leader. It's up for grabs all you need to do is pray your division winners win down the stretch. Obviously, next week the cheating Patriots go head up with the Colts AT the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. Should be a great game. My prediction 27-23 Colts! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I hope Freeney goes for Brady's knees and Bob Sanders undercuts Moss FTMFW!!

Also, we should discuss a playoff format. I was thinking about the top 4 teams of each division. I'm up for any suggestions on how we should set it up. Just post your thoughts.

What a beatdown the Steelers laid on the Ravens! The game was over in the first half. James Harrison played out of his mind on MNF. 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 INT, and 3.5 sacks.

Baltimore gave up 5 TD's in the first half and old broken down Mcnair had 13 completed passes for 67 yds!

All because I have tried a new chip dip. I am now using French Onion with Original Ruffles. No doubt that this is the reason they stomped the Ravens.

Um, most marquee players have huge games on MNF. It's the grand stage FFS save the SB.

I wouldn't call Harrison a marquee player (maybe now though ) but the Ravens got embarrassed and humiliated on offense and defense.

The Ravens are an embarrassment to all Baltimore natives and Raven fans period.

Yes, the Patriots defeated the Colts but was it an even match to begin with? Obviously as demonstrated by the final score, the Colts have a superior defense and running attack. However, Manning was not successful converting red zone opportunities into touch downs (What the **** Clark!!) which was the deciding factor in the game. The Colts run the Cover 2 defense which effectively limits deep ball routes so the opposing offense is forced to utilize slants and stretch plays mid field which is what they did. All you Belicheat fans must remember, the Colts were without Marvin Harrison which led to double coverage on Wayne for the majority of the game. They couldn’t stretch the defense by opening the field which hampered their passing attack. Take away Randy Moss from the game to make it even Steven and the Patriots would find themselves 2 touchdowns less and a loss to boot. The Colts led through 3 solid quarters and Manning cannot be at fault for the loss. The Colts secondary went man on Moss in the 4th which led to a deep ball and the game ending rushing TD. The game demonstrated to me that the Pats can be beat so long as they do not record opposing teams’ defensive schemes. The Colts and Patriots will meet again … Oh yes, they will meet again with a healthy Harrison and a prepared Addai to go over 200 APY once more. Bask in the glory of the victory now Pats fans but the Playoffs, along with the Superbowl, are games where records mean nothing. It’s an entirely new ball game.

In other NFL news how about Adrian Peterson! 296 rushing yards from scrimmage?!? A lot of skepticism was cast upon his draft prospects because of his injured leg he suffered during his college stint. The Vikings scored big picking him up 7th overall and with a consistent QB and a few decent receivers; Minnesota would be a force in the NFC north. They already have an outstanding O-Line which is obviously reflected by Peterson’s stats. Baltimore once again proved that a starting O-Line and QB who are AARP members cannot win. They are pretty much a lost cause for any playoff hopes especially with ****sburg doing so well but a wild card is plausible albeit a long shot. Let’s be honest with each other. Who thought before the first snap of the NFL season the Packers would be 7-1 and the Lions 6-2? This is why I love football … You never know who the Cinderella team will be but if any team is deserving it’s the Lions. Oh Josh, what happened to your Mules (Broncos) going all the way? 44-7? All in all a good week in the NFL and we have Thursday and Saturday games to look forward to fairly soon. Here is how week 9 ended up;

Malo Tied 2010 6-6
Middy Defeated Matt 17-10
Tobli Defeated Jack 17-6
Chance Defeated NVR 14-6
Hollyhood Defeated Thor 11-5
Tek Defeated Recon 12-11

Here is the PDF with all the current standings and schedule PX360 Contest Week 9

Shanahan better get on the phone to Plummer and take them back to the playoffs when he was there. Sure Cutler has that "cannon" arm but all it does is throw INT's.

Eli Manning is an awful QB, if his name wasn't Maning he'd be riding the bench. I love the faces he made during the Dallas game. That "oh well another INT" face.

How in the **** do you miss a gat damn 29 yard field goal?

HOW!?!?

You get paid millions of dollars to kick a ball in between two sticks and you can't make a ****ing chip shot? What's funny was the Chargers defensive reaction. They acted as if they WILLED the ball to be missed and it was all their doing. However, the Chargers and their steroid using LB's might not even make the playoffs so bask in the glory now because it will be short lived ... That's for damn sure.

Well ****! Thanks in part to the Skins giving the game away after going into the 4th with a 10 point lead and Adam Vinitari missing a gat damn chip shot of a field goal, I came out a loser this week. It shouldn’t have ended this way but it is what it is. I will post an updated PDF Monday night or Tuesday so be on the look out.

Any who, I have made a decision on a playoff format which will take effect after week 13. All teams will serve a bye the following week (14) and the top 4 players of each division will be granted a playoff birth. 5th and 6th spots will unfortunately be eliminated from playoffs contention. The top NFC and AFC teams will face off against the 4th seed while 2nd and 3rd seeds will go at it during week 15. Week 16 will bring us the conference championship game followed by the Superbowl in week 17. The champion will be the first winner of the PX360 NFL contest and will receive a game of their choosing save Rock Band and any GH. If anyone has any questions feel free to post and I'll answer when I have a moment. Good luck to all for the rest of the season!
