Ethernet cables???

My modem and soon to purchase router are going to be located downstairs with my pc. Im not sure if im going to try the wireless router or use cables! Only thing is that where its locateted is about 13ft away on the 2nd floor and i found ethernet cables from 10-50 ft on pricewatch.com. The cable reads rj45 cat-5E Would this be the right cable needed? I understand i can go wireless but right now its a matter of spending the extra money.If anyone can help me id appreciate it...Thanks to all you guys this site is awesome!

As long as they are termed "ethernet" cables you're fine.

ya best buy has like 50-75 foot ethernet cords, at least where I live.......i think around $40?

My last question Can i plug in cable directly into cable modem ..i know i need to unplug the comp first using ethernet male connector cables/

Yes, as long as it has and ethernet jack, which it certainly should.
