Moday May 5th was a negative, GTA 4 did not arrive.
Customer support has since told me that "it's unfortunate when there are delivery complications" and "We strive to make every purchase a Fun experience" I really think they are just mocking me. The Tracking Number just hits a dead end in Portland on May 1st. There is no tracking info availabl after that. My call to the Post Office has been met with more stonewalling because they say that an item has to be missing for 30 days before they will take any action to find it. My past orders ALL had up to date tracking info including when the iten left portland and traveled over the bridge to vancouver and was out for delivery. So I'm really starting to think that someone at the Post Office in Portland has jacked my copy of GTA IV.

The postman stole your game about stealing. Ironic? Perhaps.

i would go buy it, call your credit card company and say it was fraud, then email best buy and tell them to suck it.

Lesson learnt buddy, don't pre-order off the internet you know it won't arrive.

The Post Office finally AFTER 3 DAYS has responded to me, sort of....

"Hello

Thank you for contacting UPS Mail Innovations customer service.

Your package entered the United States Postal Service mail stream on 5/1/2008 in PORTLAND , OR. Your package is still within the transit time parameters for USPS delivery. However, if your package has not arrived by 5/13/2008, it may have been returned. Please contact the company you placed your order with to discuss the status of your order."

With terms like "Enter the Mail Stream" and "Transit Time Parameters" Are they pretending that they smuggle cyborgs through wormholes? So the Post Office allows 12 days for a package to travel 6 miles?
I'm serious as hell when I say that if my lackage is not here by the 13th I'll be calling the Local news and having a nice interview with a reporter about how a mailman stole my GTA IV and then I was Stonewalled by all parties involved. I think that showing the e-mails from BestBuy that mock me will be particulaly interesting.

i think you are slightly underestimating your local news station. Im sure they'd rather run a peice on some granny's cat being stuck in a tree rather than some nerd all pissed off cause their video game didnt show up when they should of got off their ass in the first place and went to the store.

yeah, good luck with getting anything from USPS. We shipped ceramic mugs in our gift packs one christmas, and knowing most people that work for the USPS are frickin idiots, we insured the packages, because the mugs would get busted.
Several packages showed up with open mugs. So we called to collect on the insurance (which cost extra). But like most insurance, there was so much red tape, we never got satisfaction. The USPS required the recipient to return the busted mug to us in the packaging, a copy of the invoice from the manufacturer of the mug to show its value, and some other stupid sh**.

So the moral is, don't use USPS if you can help it. Oh, and rates are going up on the may 12th. woot.

all i know is this: to ship one game to someone through USPS (2-7 day) cost about $1.50
to ship the same game to the same person through UPS (3-5 day) cost about $9.00. no kidding. cheapest delivery option for both.

Might be a 1.50 in the states, but nothing is a 1.50 to ship up here. UPS Ground, cheap and fast (sometimes overnight here in AK). Usually cheaper then USPS Priority (3-5 days).
