Posts: 542 | Who Rents Games? Why so, or why not? We've been able to rent games for a long time, but up tell recently most rental places have sucked. That is, as for games anyway. So, do any of you rent games? If so, where do you go to rent them? If not, why?
Personnaly, I just started renting games about 2 months ago. I'm using "Gamefly.com", and I've actually been saving money and playing more games. It's a great system, that I recommend to everyone. It's $22 a month, for 2 games out at a time (swape them out as much as you want), and free shipping both ways for all of the rents. At any time, if you want to keep a game they send you, you can pick the "keep it" button. You get the game at a reduced price, because it's been rented out. Then, they send you the game case, and manual, so you get everything. The game case, and manual are always in great condition.
Anyway, this probably sounds like a sales pitch. It's not, I'm trying to let you guys know, so it may help you save as much money as I have.
If you want to play more games, I think you could probably talk you parents into doing this.

Posts: 298 | I occasionally rent games out from Blockbuster to see what they're like, but I've never really considered signing up to one of those internet rental places. I assume the one you're recommending is US only? |

Posts: 0 | I rent games before buying them, i dont want to spend 50 bucks and just leave it on top of my tv, personally i think its worth spending 5 bucks renting a game, i think gamefly let you buy the game, which i think is perfect, since its almost new and thy give you a reasonable price on them |

Posts: 806 | I usually only rent new releases. It's kind of pointless renting old games when you can almost buy them for the same price.
Why have I rented? Because I want to see if the game is as good as it's hyped up to be. Why else? |

Posts: 1,098 | I don't bother with renting games... I usually know if I am going to like a game or not. In my nearly 16 years of gaming, I can probably count on one had the number of times I have bought a game, and hated it.

Renting has become my only solice, to play, and then purchase later. I've been buying about 75% of the games I've rented, but I've been getting them at a cheap price (about $20-30 instead of $40-50).

Posts: 225 | I will sometimes rent games that sequels like Burnout 4 so i know if it is worht buying them but mostly I buy games since with renting I usually forget to take them back and end up with huge bills, recentley I rented Burnout 4 the day it came out the bill came at just £5 under full price for buying it thanks to not taking it back.
Although there is some guy who lives near me who rents out games and movies from the back of a van for a week and I will always rent one off him as it is unlike a certain Blockbusters store near me......
