Rumor: Gears Of War Demo In Two Days

The internets gaming press is all aflutter with the thought that mega-game Gears of War will be released in demo form within the next two days.

The source of the rumor is an email sent to subscribers to the Gears newsletter, wherein a bunch of hyperlinks embedded in text point to a viral page with the URL "http://www.gearsofwar.com/48hrsexclusiveaccess, "and spell out "Marcus Fenix has been located. You have 48 hours to mobilize."

I'm so excited I can barely contain myself.

people get their hopes up for a golf demo and when it doesn’t come out they get depressed.. what do u think people are going to do when they get there hearts crushed when the 12th comes and goes and the biggest hyped 360 game ever doesn’t come out with a rumored demo?.. Don’t believe it. take it as complete BS so when it doesn’t come it wont be a big deal.. if it does?.. well hey surprise surprise.. but till then people are just talking out of their asses in my opinion

I call BS. Didn't Cliffy B say there wasn't going to be a demo a few months back?! Epic don't need the hype they have it already.

..having said that a GoW demo would kick ass.

I recall reading that as well. A demo would be great but like Cliffy B. said a demo takes time and developers away from the game and they want to concentrate on the getting the game perfect. Unless, they have already put the finishing touches on the game and were able to put time toward a demo.

I reckon it's a just a rumour. Even if they were at the stage where they could put precious time toward a demo, I'd expect them to keep holding back.

That'd increase the hype more than a demo ever could, it's like :
"Oh sure, we could let you play it now....but we're not goin' too."

It's already been confirmed that no demo will be available prior to launch, although the 12th is exactly one month before launch...hmmm!
