Question Relocating the region on Xbox 360

I am emigrating to Australia from the UK.

I have an XBOX 360, and some games, and would like to know what will happen when I try and use my Xbox in Oz.

I know some games are region free, but how does the box know which region it is? Is it software or hardware? Can I change anything?

Many thanks in advance!

I've got a friend that went over to Australia for a couple of months and then came back to the UK,as far as I know he used his 360 while he was over there.
Next time I see him I'll ask him your queston.
As regards to the region of your 360,it's down to where your 360 was purchased,so a 360 bought in the UK will be a UK 360 no matter where you take it in the world.

Its depends on the games that you buy not necessarily the 360. The games have to be locked to the region that your 360 is. Im not sure if Aus. and the UK are the same region code but if not you might have to order your games from the UK that arent region free.

Got an answer back,so hope this answers your question.

Quote:
Hey mate

His XBox 360 should work fine. Australia are PAL just like the UK and the mains power is the same voltage as here (he'll just need a plug adapter). Also Australia and Europe all use the same region coding for games, so any games he buys over there will be fine.

The only thing he'll have a problem with is DVDs as Australia are region 4 and we are region 2, and as yet there isn't a crack/boot disc on the market for region free dvds on the 360 yet.

Apart from that he should be good to go!

Buy the game where you buy the 360
