Default halo 3 at 1080P native?

thanx to scotracer we find out that MS has 4 games coming out Relatively soon said to be running at 1080 (native) link to thread.
what do u guys think when u hear halo 3 running in 1080p, is it possible, is it too far in development even with almost a year left till release to change something like that? would bungie even care about 1080p? is it possible that bungie already was told about the HD 1080p capability of the 360 way before starting on halo 3 and was told to be prepared to run halo 3 in 1080p?

what are your thoughts on this?

haha.. scotracer i cant believe u 100% .. even thought I wish I could.but the way i see it.. if (blue dragon) can be in 1080p.. then i sure as hell wont be surprised if halo 3 comes out running in 1080p.. isn't it true that on the PS3 all the games that are native 1080P look like crap on lover HD..and even worse on SDTV? i believe some reviews from 1up .com stated that mostly on ridge racer 6.. Saying it looks like a PS2 game when they played it on a lower rez. if thats true is that going to be the draw back of all 1080p native games coming out, whether its for the 360 or PS3?.that all 1080p games cant be appreciated in all their magnificence in Standard or oven lower HD settings?

thats very true but keep in mind that people play halo games for years.. so its going to get to a point were every one is going to be wishing halo 3 was in 1080p years later. well thats how i look at it. it would be preparing for the future were HD will become standard.. believe me its going to happen some day. sooner then u think..just don't hold your breath.

It is unnecessary for Halo 3 to be rendered in 1080p -- it'll just suck up disc space and only be used by ~10% of the general population. With the guys I typically play with, none of us have a HDtv that outputs above 1080i. If it does output at 1080p, then I'll have to buy a new HDtv, and I just bought this one less than 2 years ago. No thanks. No 1080p for me.

why not make the extra effort to do something today that will let u Appreciate something even more in years to come. if bungie does release halo 3 running in 1080P native that would be a very good move in my, and many other's eyes.

Not necessarily. a texture for 1080i is the same size as a texture for 1080p. The GPU decides which resolution to output the game in, not what's on the disk.

Yes, upping the resolution naturally would promote the use of higher resolution textures but it is not obligatory.

That’s a very valid point u make when u talk about TV consumers already own.but just cuz most people cant use the benefits yet doesn’t mean it will stop MS from going through with this.. (if they really choice to).. what better way to show consumers that the 360 can compete with the PS3 when it comes to HD visuals then to put it in MS biggest game franchise of all time?

Remember guys that a native 1080p image downscaled to 720p looks superior to a native 720p image. All is not lost.

no joke?..i mean it would make sense. the detail is still there even when downscaled. so when u compare 1080(i) and 1080(p) is there almost the same amount of digital information? the way i see it the only big difference is in the way the data is transmitted in interlaced form compared to progressive. but is the Dada/information still pretty much the same? either way u send it, i know that u pretty much send around twice the amount of data through progressive scan compared to interlaced just cuz interlaced does every (other) line of pixels compared to doing every line of pixels on the whole screen all at ones with progressive...(FPS depending on the signal) am I some where in the ball park?.. Just queries

I am not bothered. 720p is cool with me. Halo 3 will be off the hook though when it lands.
